Story
Gigi will be your best girlie! Hello, there! I’m Gigi– a little lady with a big heart, a dash of sass, and a deep love for my people. At 8 years young, I’m the ultimate companion. I’m a cute Cairn terrier (if I don’t say so myself) at a nice medium-sized, 45 pounds. I adore snuggling on the couch, going on sniff-filled strolls, and proudly carrying around my stuffed animals like tiny trophies. I’ve been brought to TAP from San Diego Humane shelter. I’m still settling in and learning what it means to be a carefree pup. I like other dogs, but I can be protective when it comes to sharing my favorite things (can you blame a girl for wanting to keep her treats and toys?). With patient guidance, I know I’ll get there! On leash, I might bark at first, but give me a moment and I’ll happily say hello. I’m potty trained, eager to please, and love being part of a family. The crate? Not my favorite, but I do well with a baby gate instead. I’d love a home where I can be your devoted little shadow—someone who understands that I thrive with a routine, plenty of walks, and lots of love. I’m the pawfect balance of active energy and cute cuddles. Due to my resource guarding, I’d be best as your solo sweetheart or with a mellow, submissive pooch. I’ve already grown so much with my foster fam and know that I will continue to blossom with love and patience. If you’re looking for a sweet, spunky girl who’s ready to find her furever, I just might be the perfect fit. Come meet me—I’ll be the one wagging my tail, waiting for you! My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##2276552##

Story
Herman is a 3 year old terrier mix with so much love to give! Herman was found left alone at the Cabazon Dinosaurs, after waiting out his stray hold, when no one came to claim him, we busted him out of the Riverside Shelter. He is a gentle boy who would be a great work from home partner! He has not shown any food aggression and is great with his 2 foster siblings. When we found him he was unable to put weight on his front left paw - but the vets think this is a soft tissue injury that will heal with time (and love!). He is fully potty trained and loves to be outside. All this boy wants is to snuggle and give kisses. He will make an amazing addition to any home!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.  If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application.  If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application.   Looking to adopt a wonderful sweet, loving and playful medium breed? Then you need to meet Annie!Annie was rescued off the streets of Baja and is a typical baja mutt. We don't know her breed but she resembles a terrier mix. She is a young dog in the 1-2 year old range who was rescued off the streets when she was noticed with a severely injured eye and pregnant roaming the streets scared. She was safely rescued and taken to the vet clinic where the veterinarian determined the eye had to be enucleated and spayed. Annie is now in San Diego and we have learned she is a loving dog who needs a gentle loving calm home. She can be terrified of new things at first and does NOT do well with loud noises especailly rough yelling humans, she needs postive talk and even baby talk will win her over and approach for lots of loving. She is a very gentle social young dog who easily appproaches humans for loving  but she needs to feel comfortable first, baby talk is the way to Annies heart....as well as FOOD! She goes crazy for food even carrots! Annie is a pretty quiet and easy going dog but LOVES to play and rump around with dog friends, once she burns some energy playing around she is calm most of the day loving to hoard her toys and sun bathe. She is crate trained and has not had accidents in the home while having access to the yard, She spent a weekend with a volunteer in an apartment and did well as well, this is what her weekend stay over volunteer has to say: 'She was very anxious for the first few hours. I could tell she was very on edge and easily startled by noises, so I think her having a quiet environment helped her decompress and ease up a little. After a few hours, she started wagging her tail and coming up to me. Keeping the environment quiet, letting her explore, giving her lots of assurance through petting and affection, and just being patient with her was crucial in her easing up.  She stayed with me in downtown which is of course a busy place. Luckily I am in a cul-de-sac so it was a little more quiet here, so when I would take her on potty walks she would be hyper-aware of all the stimulus (so many people, dogs and cars!). I think this all made her nervous about going potty, she didn't go potty outside until the 5th walk that I took her on which is when she started feeling comfortable.  She did go potty inside a few times and she seems to do it when you are no longer in her vision or are in another room. So I think she might be a little nervous going potty around others. By the next day, she had done like a 180 and woke up with so much energy and excitement. She was playing with her toy, she loves to fetch, and she absolutely loves affection/petting. She is a VERY sweet girl and loves to cuddle -- she fell asleep on me on the couch the first night.    Overall she was wonderful and I have no doubt she will continue to make amazing progress. She did so quickly overnight!   To adopt or foster Annie (ask us about our 2 week foster trials!)
