Story
Meet Zebby, the sweetest sidekick you didn’t know you needed! Zebby is a 6 year old mixed breed gentleman weighing in at about 16 pounds, and he’s on the lookout for his forever family. He’s friendly, calm, and wonderfully easygoing; the kind of pup who just wants to be near his people. His favorite things in the world are curling up in your lap, getting gentle ear scratches, and falling asleep in your arms if you let him. If you’re relaxing, he’s relaxing. If you’re heading out, he’s happy to trot along. He truly just loves being part of whatever you’re doing. Zebby walks beautifully on a leash, gets along great with other animals, and is fantastic with kids 6+. He even participates in their pretend games without complaint. He’s both crate-trained and housetrained, though he much prefers being trusted to roam the house at his own relaxed pace while you’re away. He knows his name and responds to several basic commands like “sit,” “no,” and “outside.” And when treats are involved, he’ll proudly offer his paw for a shake. Zebby’s ideal home is a relaxed, calm environment. When things get too loud or overwhelming, he’ll quietly excuse himself and find a more peaceful spot. He is generally very easygoing, but he can be a bit protective of his treats. He will also vocalize when something makes him uncomfortable, such as being crated or being petted too roughly. If you’re looking for a loving, lowkey companion who fits seamlessly into family life, Zebby might be your perfect match. To adopt him, please apply on www.orphannanierescue.org His adoption fee is $450, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.

Story
Thistle ID# 19408 Kennel #321 Arrived May 29th (Stray) Terrier Mix Grey, Tan, and Black Female 10 Years Old 13.5 lbs Up to Date on Vaccines Heartworm Negative Thistle is a ten-year-old grey, tan, and black Terrier mix with a scruffy, salt-and-pepper coat, warm brown eyes, and the kind of wise, gentle face that only comes with a life well lived. She arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on May 29th, and how a sweet, knowing little girl like this ends up without a home at ten years old is a question without a good answer. What is certain is that she deserves far better than a shelter kennel, and she deserves it now. Thistle is sweet, cute as can be, and already knows sit. She is the kind of small, calm, easy-to-love dog that fits beautifully into a quiet home and fills it with warmth just by being present. Thistle does have a skin allergy that will need to be evaluated by an outside veterinarian after adoption a new adopter will want to follow up with their vet to get her the proper diagnosis and care plan so she can be as comfortable as possible. There is a particular injustice in a ten-year-old dog sitting in a shelter kennel. Senior dogs feel uncertainty deeply, and Thistle has already been through enough. She is not asking for much a warm place to rest, gentle hands, and someone who will see her through her next chapter with the love and attention she so clearly deserves. Thistle is a little girl with a big heart and so many good days still ahead of her. Adopting a senior is one of the most profound and rewarding things a person can do, and Thistle will repay that kindness tenfold. Come meet her in Kennel #321 that scruffy, silver face and those soft brown eyes will stay with you long after you leave. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
