Story
Meet Cloey & Rowan — A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home Some dogs find their way into each other’s lives and become family. Cloey and Rowan are those dogs. They came to Furkids together, and their bond is incredibly special. Now, they’re looking for a forever home where they can stay together and continue being each other’s source of comfort, companionship, and love. Cloey is a sweet 9-year-old Cairn Terrier who may be a little bit of a homebody, but she has a big heart. She enjoys the company of other dogs and has Rowan by her side, which helps make her feel safe and secure. Cloey is still working on becoming completely housebroken and can be protective of her home. She can also be possessive around food, so her family will need to give her space and help her feel comfortable during mealtimes. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Cloey has so much love left to give. Rowan is a lovable 7-year-old Maltese/Yorkie mix with a gentle, shy personality. He is housebroken and does well with other dogs. Rowan can take a little time to warm up, but once he feels safe, his sweet personality begins to shine. He is especially comforted by having Cloey nearby. Thunderstorms can be frightening for Rowan, so his forever family will need to provide extra reassurance and a cozy, secure place for him during storms. Together, Cloey and Rowan are more than two dogs — they are each other’s family. We believe they deserve the chance to grow old together, side by side, rather than having to wonder where the other one went. If you have room in your heart and home for two wonderful senior pups, you could give them the greatest gift of all: a forever home where they never have to be separated. Because of their individual needs, we do not recommend Cloey and Rowan for a home with small children. They would do best with an understanding adopter who is willing to give them patience, consistency, and the time they need to feel completely at home. 💕 Adoption fee: $175 per dog 💕 Both dogs must be adopted together. 💕 Adopters must be at least 21 years old. If you’ve ever believed that love means staying together, Cloey and Rowan are waiting to prove you right. Please apply to furkids.org.

Story
Maggie – ID# 22053 – Kennel 317 – Arrived as a stray on August 25th, 2026 – Terrier mix – black and grey – Female – 10 years old – 14.6875 lbs – Due to her age, spaying would need to be arranged with your own vet if you choose to do so, as it isn't performed at the shelter – Up to date on vaccines – Heartworm negative Maggie is a sweet, gentle soul with a scruffy black and grey coat and warm brown eyes. She came to the shelter as a stray on August 25th, 2026, and her good manners suggest she's spent time as someone's cherished companion before. Maggie's behavior speaks for itself — she sits nicely when asked and walks beautifully on a leash, the kind of polished manners that come from patience and a loving hand. It's hard not to wonder about the home she once had, and even harder to accept that a girl this well-mannered ended up without one. She does have some minor hair loss, possibly related to fleas, but a course of medicated baths and flea treatment should help her coat bounce back — her vet team will keep an eye on her progress and guide next steps. At 10 years old, Maggie deserves a soft place to land after a lifetime of good behavior. Senior dogs like her are so often overlooked, but they bring a steadiness and gratitude that's hard to match. Maggie is ready to spend her golden years being someone's best friend again. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Harry is a fantastic dog with the people he knows and trusts. He’s incredibly loyal and protective of his home and of me—especially when strangers come near the gate while I’m standing there. However, if we linger and chat for a bit, he usually warms up and will even jump up on the gate looking for some pets. That said, Harry definitely needs someone with experience to continue working on his socialization. He doesn’t always remember people from one day to the next—so even if he meets someone on a Tuesday, he may need a fresh introduction on Wednesday. Every visit is like starting from scratch. To be totally honest, it’s tough, because he really is such a great dog. He’s amazing with everyone at the kennel, loves to cuddle with other dogs (and with me), and he’s housebroken, crate trained, and listens well. He even spent a couple of weeks with a cat and didn’t show any interest—just ignored it.
