Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR. Adoption fee:  $350.00   BJ belonged to an older lady who tried to sneak him into her apartment and got caught. So she had to put him into rescue. He’s a nice little fellow, a chihuahua/cairn mix, 6 years old and 8-10 pounds. BJ is housetrained…prefers to be walked outside to potty. He is a complete lapdog! Perfect for an apartment dweller…just make sure you can have a dog! Leash-trained and loves to be walked. Good in the car and good with other dogs and with people. Can be nippy when he wants to be left alone. Doesn't like big dogs. Great little guy!   Adoption fee: $350.00.   Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. Story
Meet Charlie Pepper! This spirited little guy is a terrier through-and-through: tenacious, driven, energetic, and clever. He has not known much stability or predictability in his life, and he's looking for a home where he can finally settle in, relax, and learn how to harness his instincts to be the very best boy he can be! Charlie has two favorite things: running around in the yard (preferably with a tennis ball) and snoozing on the sofa. He absolutely loves going on walks, where he can indulge his natural enthusiasm and curiosity about everything he sees and smells. He needs plenty of excercise and time outside, but once he's had his fill of the great outdoors, he's happy to settle in for an evening of TV and couch time with his favorite people. Mr. Peppers has spent time in foster, where he experienced the benefits of a quiet home environment, which he seems to prefer. His ideal family would be kid- and cat-free (teens would be fine), and he could be happy with or without a canine companion or two. Although he seems to like having other dogs around, he mostly does his own thing and does not seem to depend on them for play or security. A country boy at heart, we believe Charlie would thrive with access to lots of room to roam, but he can also adjust to a more urban or suburban setting with proper enrichment and opportunities to do his terrier things: chase, dig, and sniff. Despite his obvious confidence and self-assuredness, Charlie really wants nothing more than a dependable human to call his own and spend plenty of time with. He is eager to please and ready to learn, and his adoption comes with two free sessions with the Dog Wizard to help you develop your relationship and make a training plan to suit his high intelligence and drive. If you think Charlie Peppers might be the right pup for you, make an appointment to meet him today!
