Story
Meet Archie – The Scruffy Gentleman With a Heart of Gold and a Rockstar ‘Do 🐾💙Nickname: The Mohawk MaestroBreed: Terrier MixAge: 8 yearsWeight: 45 lbsCurrently Residing: Madison, WIArchie’s StoryArchie found himself needing a new home after he was diagnosed with diabetes. His owner traveled a lot for work and could not accommodate his insulin needs every 12 hours. Through it all, Archie has remained exactly who he is at his core — a joyful, easygoing companion who takes life as it comes. Now settled in foster care, he’s proving every day that he’s ready to bring his calm, happy energy into a forever home.Personality & Fun FactsActivity Level: Moderate — the perfect balance of “let’s go for a walk” and “let’s not overdo it.”Fun Fact: Archie is rocking the best wild, scruffy mohawk this side of the Mississippi. It has main-character energy and refuses to be ignored.Friendly With: Everyone. Truly. Men, women, kids (even the little ones!), cats, and dogs of all shapes and sizes — Archie is a social pro. However, he can get overwhelmed, so Archie would do best in a chill, quiet home with one or two humans to love on him. Chaos is best in very small doses.Sleep Style: A comfy dog bed right next to his humans. Close enough to keep an eye on things, but cool enough to maintain his gentlemanly independence.Bark-o-Meter: 3 out of 10 — he’ll politely announce visitors but isn’t one to carry on about it.Shedding Meter: 2 out of 10 — low maintenance, high style.Archie’s PreferencesMeals: Small Batch Turkey, served with appreciation and enthusiasm.Favorite Snack: Anything that says “you’re a very good boy,” which is… most things.Fashion: Bold print bandanas — because if you’ve got the hair, you’ve got to accessorize.Signature Color: Royal blue plaid. Sophisticated, but with a little flair.Favorite Season: Spring — nothing beats fresh grass, new smells, and a light breeze flowing through that iconic hairdo.Walk-Out Song: “As Long As You Love Me” by the Backstreet Boys 🎵 — because Archie is here to love you, no questions asked.Special NeedsMedical: Archie has diabetes, which is managed with daily insulin (approximately $25/month) and supplements. He handles his routine like a champ and doesn’t let it slow him down one bit.Likes & DislikesLoves: People, dogs, cats, car rides, leisurely walks, and just being part of the action (or calmly observing it).Hobby: If Archie had thumbs, he’d absolutely be playing billiards in a velvet smoking jacket, quietly winning every game. Not a Fan Of: Honestly? Nothing noteworthy. Archie is about as go-with-the-flow as they come.Commands He KnowsSit, down, come — and he has great recall in the yard and house. He’s eager to please and loves making his people proud. Why Archie is SpecialArchie is that rare kind of dog who fits seamlessly into just about any home. He’s gentle with kids, respectful with other pets, easy on a leash, great in the car, and carries himself with a calm, peaceful confidence that instantly puts people at ease. And then there’s that face — the scruff, the smile, the slightly wild hair that gives him a permanent “just rolled out of bed looking fabulous” vibe.Archie isn’t just a good dog — he’s the kind of dog who makes life feel a little softer, a little happier, and a whole lot more loved. 💙SpayedMicrochippedTreat motivatedWalks happily on leashRoams freely when home aloneHousebrokenUTD on vaccinationsUTD on preventativesAlbert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Story
Chico is a little over 4 years old, but sometimes still acts like a puppy. He is so good with people and kids but can be aggressive toward other animals. He loves to play and is good on a leash, but will run if he gets loose. He likes to go on walks. He loves to be around people and has a very big and playfully happy personality. He does like to nip playfully when he gets excited if you get too close to his face. He does not go to the bathroom in the house if taken out regularly. Chico would thrive best in a home with no other pets and owners who are home often. He enjoys being outside and playing. He loves toys and stuffed animals and stays occupied well with bones and toys. He is crate trained as well. He does not get along with our other male dogs and has been having to stay in his kennel during the day, mostly only being out at night or when taken out to the bathroom. We love him so much and are looking for a better quality of life for him.

Story
About Me: Name: Willow Ava Breed (or best guess): Terrier mix Approximate Age: 3 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 13 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family, must be only pet Why In Rescue: stray/lost dog Profile:  Willow Ava was found as a stray/lost dog in Milwaukee County and no one came for her so she is looking for a new family.  We don't have a history or background on her and breed/age are our best guesses.  Willow is a sweet dog just waiting for a home of her own.  Willow was adopted and returned because she didn't do well with the family's cat or dogs outside the home.  Because of this Willow needs to live in a single family home, not an apartment where she will be meeting other dogs on a regular basis. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS March 11, 2026, 11:03 pm

Story
How to begin this story.. well I am a silly guy. I believe many myths to be true. No dog is too small for the job and no legs are too short, that includes my own stumpy legs. I look like a funny cross between a Jack Russel, maybe a Corgi and something Doodley all glued together. I call it handsome. Herbert is the name and when Im feeling spicy its, Herberto! I was a stray that found myself alone in a hospital run for weeks. Telling everyone to piss off and leave me alone, except for one lovely guy. He became my first real friend, my handler, my confidant. This young man brought me to Redemption! Where I am now learning even more about myself and this beautiful world around me. I enjoy nature, running through lake edges and streams. I dont mind getting my feet dirty or letting you rinse them off. I love fresh flowers growing in the grass and gardens, I love tearing the ground up with my swift little feet. If you arent paying attention ill spin in a circle and bounce right off of you! Funny to me, not so funny to the dog walkers. I am a typical terrier in many ways. I love to have fun, chase a ball for a moment, and nip dogs butts in play group. The terrier in me just squeals with joy at the thrill of the chase! My playmates..... ya not so much..they occasionally hand my butt back to me. I am a good sport though and can let most things go. Now with that being said; I crave a strong leader. Some one that isn't afraid to keep me on my toes, make sure I complete all my chores and stay on my best behavior. Its true that I push the envelope, but I promise I just wanna be a good boy...most of the time.  Herbert is a loving social boy that would do great in a home with another dog, he also doesn't mind cats and could live happily with older considerate children. Herbert walks nicely on a leash, is crate and potty trained, but still needs some work on sharing things he values. He has a slight spicy side that can be tamed with a good full routine and physical activity. He really is an amazing dog that would do best with an owner that has terrier experience. Please contact us to learn more about this silly goose! Contact us today to meet this remarkable dog.
