Story
Age: 10 years old Weight: 20 pounds Dog friendly: Yes, requires companion dog in the home Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Raisin is an affectionate, easy-going girl who is ready to bring joy to a calm, loving forever home. She’s great on leash and loves her twice-daily walks. She's house-trained, crate-trained and trustworthy when left out of her crate. Raisin greets new dogs with a sweet, longing whimper and would love a canine companion to share her days with - she plays gently and cuddles close with the resident dog in her foster home. She currently watches out the living room window and naps on the couch during the day, and sleeps in bed with her foster family at night. She's a sensitive girl who was previously certified as an emotional support animal. She would love to provide companionship to someone who is home sometimes throughout the day or prepared to dedicate plenty of quality time outside of work with her each evening. Raisin has two extra adorable traits she may show off while listening to you share about your day - pawing for additional head scratches and validating your feelings by howling on cue! If you’re looking for a loving, well-mannered best friend with perfect doses of scruff and personality, Raisin might just be your girl. Adoption fee: $495.00

Story
Fiji’s story started in a way no puppy deserves. At just a few months old, she was abandoned in a box outside an impound. We don’t know what happened before that box, but somehow it didn’t steal her joy. This girl is HAPPY. Fiji is about 4 months old and very much a puppy — complete with tiny shark teeth, puppy antics, zoomies, and a tendency to bounce up and down when she’s excited. We’re working on her manners, but at this age she’s still figuring out how to puppy appropriately. And then there’s her voice. 😂 Fiji has LOTS to say. She barks while playing with my dogs. She barks at her toys. She barks outside. Sometimes I’m pretty sure she barks just because she has an important announcement to make. She is a VERY terrier and definitely isn’t going to be winning any awards for being the strong, silent type. That said, she knows how to settle. She sleeps quietly in her crate all night, and when I check the camera while I’m at work, she’s quiet in her crate during the day too. Her terrier commentary comes out when she’s busy living her best life, but she understands that crate time is quiet time. We’re also working on potty training, and she’s doing pretty darn well! She’s still a baby, though, so accidents happen. Her new family should expect that a transition into a new home may come with a few steps backward while she learns a new routine and environment. Patience and consistency will go a long way. Fiji will definitely benefit from puppy obedience classes. She’s smart, energetic, eager to engage, and at the perfect age to start building good habits. Classes will help her learn some puppy manners, give that busy little terrier brain something productive to do, and — just as importantly — help her build a strong relationship with her new person. She has so much potential; she just needs someone willing to put in the work while she’s young. She will also benefit from mental stimulation (kongs, puzzle toys etc, anything like that to keep her little brain stimulated and occupied) Fiji is currently fed separately from the other dogs because she has shown some food-guarding tendencies toward them when they walk past her crate while she’s eating. She has not shown this behavior toward me. Because we know nothing about her life before she was abandoned, it’s possible food wasn’t always guaranteed and she learned early that she needed to protect it. For now, giving her a safe, separate place to eat keeps everyone comfortable and successful.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Sailor is a Cairn Terrier mix who is equal parts fun, playful, smart, and cuddly! This moderately high-energy girl loves just about everything life has to offer—toys, bones, treats, food, people, and especially being part of the pack. Sailor can be cautious when she encounters something new or meets new people, and she does best when she's given the time and space to feel comfortable at her own pace. She isn't a dog who wants everyone in her space right away, and coming on too strong can make her feel unsure, but once Sailor realizes she's safe and begins to trust you, a whole new side of her comes out! Sailor's affection is well worth the wait. She may need some time to warm up, and building that bond can't be rushed or forced, but the little dog waiting on the other side of that trust is something special. Once she feels comfortable, Sailor becomes a loving, snuggly companion who loves her people HARD. She also has plenty of hilarious little mannerisms that will keep you laughing and make you fall even more in love with her quirky personality. She just needs someone who understands that the best relationships take time to grow and who will let her decide when she's ready for that next step. Although not required, Sailor would love a confident, patient, and playful canine companion who can show her the ropes and give her some good cues to follow. She enjoys the company of dogs who are kind, gentle, and playful, especially those who understand how to give her a little breathing room when she needs it. A respectful canine friend who can engage her in play without overwhelming her would be a wonderful match and help her continue building confidence. Sailor has also been attending doggy daycare, where she's been working on her manners, building confidence, and learning that new people and experiences aren't so scary after all. These positive experiences are helping her come out of her shell and discover that the world can be a fun and safe place! This girl has plenty of energy, so an active family who can give her opportunities to run, play, learn, and explore will be important. She loves a good game of fetch and having a canine buddy to engage in zoomies with. A securely fenced yard is a must for Sailor, as she absolutely loves to run and can be a bit of an escape artist. She has discovered that an open door can be an invitation to adventure, so her family will need to be extra careful about securing doorways before opening them. Sailor is still building her confidence on leash, which can make her feel nervous. She's much more comfortable having the freedom to move around in a safe, secure space, so she'll need a patient family willing to help her build positive associations with the leash at her own pace. Gentle encouragement, positive reinforcement, and consistency will help her learn that leash time doesn't have to be so scary. Plus, she's extremely food motivated, making training fun and rewarding! In true Terrier fashion, Sailor has a voice and isn't afraid to use it! She can be vocal when new people come into the home or when something unfamiliar catches her attention. Some of this seems to come from uncertainty, so she'll benefit from continued positive experiences that will help her  feel more secure in new situations. The good news is that she's pretty easily redirected and is an incredibly smart girl who is eager to learn. Sailor is doing well with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule and given regular opportunities to go outside. She is also crate trained and keeps her crate clean. She is great with kids who respect her boundaries and loves being involved in whatever her people are doing. When the zoomies are over? She turns into the sweetest cuddle bug. Once she feels safe with you, she loves snuggling with her humans and soaking up the sunshine in a cozy spot. This is the side of Sailor that makes all the patience worthwhile: the goofy, affectionate little dog who wants to be near her people has her own special ways of showing love. She somehow manages to make even the simplest moments entertaining. Sailor may not be an instant best friend, but for someone willing to give her the time she needs, she has so much love to give. She needs a family that will respect her boundaries, celebrate her progress, and help her build confidence through patience, consistency, and understanding. In return, you'll quickly discover just how deeply this special girl can love.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Bitsy to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 5-pound small Terrier/Cairn mixed pup. Her mom is Monica. She was on the street as a stray. We took her in to find out she was pregnant. The puppies were born in our Rescue. They have gotten lots of interaction. They are very social and friendly. Bitsy is one of the smaller pups in the litter. She is full of personality and very good with her litter group. She goes on a wee pad and is good in a crate. She likes all people and is not shy around strangers. Her mom is 15 pounds. We do think Bitsy will be 15 pounds or less full grown. She is not a big shedder. She will make some lucky family a good pet. Anyone who adopts a puppy should not work all day everyday because a puppy needs to be with their family and not home alone all day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. She will be a great dog for a social person wanting a matching puppy personality. She would be fine in a smaller condo size yard. She would be fine with other dogs. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is getting spayed, vaccinated and she will be ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also use one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See her cute video

Story
Hello there, everyone! Are you looking for a faithful sidekick to share life’s adventures with? If so, I’m the guy for you! I love going on walks, spending time with my people, and simply hanging out together. I’m good with other dogs, but I’d also be perfectly happy being the only furry family member in the home. What I really want is a family who enjoys having their dog around, so a home where my people are around more often than they’re away would be ideal for me. I’m potty trained and crate trained, although I’ll be honest—I’m not a big fan of hanging out in a crate. I’d much rather be out with my people! I enjoy toys, but I’m also perfectly content just relaxing and keeping you company. And if there’s one thing I really love, it’s being outside! I can be a little vocal from time to time because I believe my thoughts and opinions deserve to be shared with the world! Because of that, a home without shared walls would be best for me. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants to be by your side, enjoy some walks, spend time outdoors, and just hang out together, I’d love to meet you! I’m ready to be your new best friend and faithful sidekick!   WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? The Rescue Crew is a foster-based rescue, which means all of our pets are cared for in homes throughout Minnesota.  Foster Home Pets: Meet & greets are scheduled after an approved adoption application Cats at The PURRfect Match Adoption Center (Andover, MN): Some cats may be available to meet during open hours Please visit our website for the most accurate information on this pet and next steps.
