Don’t let his age fool you—he’s full of energy and always up for an adventure, whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, zoomies in a fenced yard, or a road trip (he’s the best passenger and snoozes calmly the whole ride!). This sweet boy has a wonderful training foundation—he knows sit, is working on “lay,” waits patiently at mealtime, and is crate and muzzle trained. He’s eager to keep learning and thrives with structure. Scrappy is also a toy enthusiast who especially loves squeaky toys, fetch (for a few fun tosses), and playtime that keeps his mind engaged. Scrappy gets along beautifully with other dogs and would love to have a canine buddy or two to hang out with. With his dog friends, he’s playful, polite, and happy to just be part of the pack. At home, Scrappy is affectionate, calm, and loves to be by your side. He’s a champion snuggler who will happily share the bed if you let him, and he’ll melt your heart with belly rub requests and sweet kisses. Mabel is about 7 months old, weighs 10 pounds and is a typical happy, playful puppy! She is very sweet, friendly and as you can see in the video, enjoys exploring and playing. She was rescued with her brother Milo from a flea market where they were being given away near the border of Mexico. We are so happy they are safe with us. We can see Mabel doing well in a home where she can get lots of attention and playtime with her family. She is curious and also enjoys being held. She has a fun personality and in true terrier fashion, she is very smart. She enjoys playing with toys and her brother. She is just a fun-loving puppy who can’t wait to find a home of her own! She would be a wonderful, loyal companion to grow up in just about any family environment. She would benefit from a puppy obedience class and crate training. Mabel is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. A meet and greet can be arranged with an approved application. Mabel is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. Story
Winston is a real charmer! He wins the hearts of everyone he meets. He just showed up in a neighborhood looking for someone to love! After taking him to a vet clinic to be scanned for a microchip and posting him all over social media no owner came forward. Now Winston is looking for a new family. He seems to be extremely friendly with everyone he meets however we do not know how he would do with children. The doctor is guessing him to be about 7 - 8 years old. He seems to be house trained and has not been destructive in any way. He very much enjoys going for walks and likes to spend time outside. His biggest love is sitting in laps and giving kisses if he can get away with it! If you think Winston may be a match for you just let us know!

Story
Benny was found running the streets in a stray dog pack in the Rio Grande Valley. When he first came here, he was fearful around men and could be a bully to new dogs, but he's come a long way since then. Once he gets to know you, he's a sweet, funny, playful dog who wants to be with you as much as possible. Benny was initially cat-aggressive, but he's been around cats for several months and has grown used to them. He mostly ignores them but sometimes chases them. He can be around cats, but should not be left alone with them. (I kennel him when we leave.) Benny gets along well with most female dogs, but he can be dominant towards male dogs. He shows some resource guarding of both food and people and seems to want to "defend" his people from other dogs. That doesn't mean he can't get along with other dogs or other male dogs, but he needs to be introduced to other dogs carefully. The same can be true for introducing him to new people---he needs some time to build trust. Someone who is willing to take time and socialize Benny with other people and animals would be a great adopter. Benny is a great dog who really wants to please. He is loving, affectionate, and playful.
