Story
Strudel raised her kittens and now has been looking for her forever home. She is looking for a home without too much activity. She’s being fostered with both small dogs and other adult cats.  Head scratches are a favorite, but she is not a fan of being held. This girl is so gorgeous in person!June 21, 2026, 9:22 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you're working for home or just playing it safe by practicing social distancing, now is a perfect time to bring a new furry family member into the fold. Email us any questions about any cats we have and we will be happy to provide any additional information you may need. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Peanut is about 12 years old as of June, 2026.  She is a total sweetheart who certainly didn't deserve what happened to her. After 10 years of being a loyal companion, she was taken to a shelter due to allergies. Thanks to her microchip, we were able to get her and her housemate to safety, but she needs a real home. She's a low energy girlie who will be no trouble in her home. Her former people had her declawed, which, as disappointed as we are, we hope will help her find a home more easily. All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Adoption fee: $50 Our cats are shown by appointment. If you are interested in adopting or would like to meet our cats, please fill out our adoption application online at www.safehousepets.org/adopt and a volunteer will contact you promptly.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Our adoption fee structure is as follows:   $75 - Kittens/Young (Up to 1 year) $50 - Adult (1 Year +) $25 - Senior (7 Years +) $0 - FIV + There is an additional $25 fee for cats considered to be an "Exotic" (Siamese, Persian, etc...) If you are a senior (65 years or older) you can adopt any of our senior cats (7 years or older) for only $10! Please mention this special when applying. We also have a kitten special - adopt 2 available kittens (1 year & under) for $125 While we try to keep our animal listings up-to-date online, sometimes the age range may be labelled incorrectly. Please don't hesitate to contact us for the most up-to-date information on a particular cat.  Our cats are shown by appointment - we are a foster based rescue and so we don't have a location with set hours. Email us any questions about any cats we have and we will be happy to provide any additional information you may need. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Calypso is about 2 years old as of April 2026. She has spent a large portion of that time in confinement. She was trapped as an older kitten with the intent to be socialized for adoption. Due to a series of unfortunate incidents, the window to return her back to her outside home closed, so we decided to continue efforts to socialize. Recently she has been given free reign of her foster home, and she's getting so brave! She's gone from spending her days in the basement to spending almost all her time in the vicinity of her foster family. Her buddy Spokane, also available, gives her so much confidence. If she's laying with him, she will relax for pets. Otherwise she stays just out of reach, but that's ok! She's used to TV, seeing people walk by outside, and sharing the couch with humans. While we would love to see her flourish in her own home, we are now looking for any safe outcome. If you have a SAFE shop, building, or barn, we think she would adapt. Her foster mom is very ill and she has nowhere else to go. Please consider her! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Just like her namesake, Star Crunch is a little sweet, a little understated, and best enjoyed at a relaxed pace. This easygoing girl is happiest when she’s lounging in a cozy spot, watching the world go by, or enjoying a peaceful nap. Star Crunch tends to keep to herself and isn’t quite as demanding of attention as some of the other cats. She’s the kind of companion who quietly shares your space, offering calm company without needing to be the center of attention. But don’t mistake her independence for a lack of affection. When the mood strikes, she’ll surprise you with her sweet side, whether it’s climbing into your lap for a cuddle or sticking around for some gentle pets. She also enjoys the occasional play session and has a playful spark hidden beneath her laid-back exterior. Star Crunch seems to appreciate having her own space and prefers a calm environment where she can relax and be herself. If you're looking for a low-key companion who values peaceful moments, cozy naps, and quiet companionship, Star Crunch might just be the perfect addition to your home.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Lil Boo Thang is equal parts sweetheart, diva, and drama queen in the most lovable way. She’s a very affectionate girl who enjoys attention, but only when it’s on her terms. She prefers to be the star of the show and doesn’t love sharing the spotlight with other cats. When she’s away from them, though, her softer side truly shines. She’ll happily curl up in your lap, purr contentedly, and even nudge your face for extra love. She can be a bit feisty and independent, confident, a little grumpy at times, but full of surprising bursts of sweetness that make those moments extra special. Lil Boo Thang enjoys doing her own thing, lounging nearby, and keeping an eye on her favorite humans, but when she chooses you, it feels like a true honor. One unique thing about Lil Boo Thang is that she has no teeth, which only adds to her charm. She had them removed after coming to LCHS due to chronic stomatitis, and she’s doing wonderfully. She still loves treats and will happily enjoy them (don’t worry, she manages just fine!). If you’re looking for a cat with personality, independence, and a heart that reveals itself over time, Lil Boo Thang could be your perfect match. She’s ready for a home that appreciates her sass, her sweetness, and everything in between.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Johnny is a boy with a tender heart and a story that tugs at it. He and four other cats were abandoned in a cage on our property, left to face an uncertain future. Because of that rough start, Johnny is still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. He can be cautious when meeting new people and isn’t one to give his heart away right away. He prefers to observe first and take things at his own pace. But with patience, kindness, and a gentle approach, you’ll see his walls slowly come down. Once Johnny trusts you, he transforms into an incredibly affectionate and loyal companion. He leans into your touch, melts into cuddles, and loves with his whole heart. Quiet, thoughtful, and sweet, Johnny will do best in a calm, patient home that lets him build confidence on his own timeline. Just like his namesake, he’s looking for that one true person who will stick with him through the shy moments and into the love-filled ones. If you’re looking for a cat you can truly help blossom and who will reward your patience with a deep, special bond, Johnny might just be your perfect match.
