Calico kittens & cats in Johnstown, Pennsylvania

Lucille is a gorgeous 4-year-old calico who has come a long way since she first arrived at the Rescue. She’s still not quite ready to be your pick-up-and-snuggle-baby... but honestly, Lucille has a very important message for you: "I will decide when we cuddle. Thank you for understanding.” This sweet and sassy girl absolutely enjoys affection—on HER terms, of course! She’ll happily accept pets and attention when she’s in the mood, but she has no problem letting you know when her affection quota has officially been reached. Lucille is looking for someone who understands that earning her trust takes patience and respect. Follow her rules, and you’ll be rewarded with something pretty special: her loyalty, friendship, and trust. Lucille is also a professional climber and believes the best place to supervise her kingdom is from the highest point available. Cat trees, shelves, window perches... if it’s up high, Lucille is probably already planning her route. And the way to this girl’s heart? Churu treats and wet food. We’re not saying you can buy her love... but we’re also not saying you can’t. Lucille seems to especially enjoy the company of male cats and kittens. She can be a little jealous and territorial with the ladies, so she would likely be happiest as an only cat—or potentially with a laid-back male feline friend. But truthfully? Lucille would make a wonderful one-and-only. She’ll have all the attention to herself, plenty of high places to survey her kingdom, delicious wet food, Churus on demand, and a human who understands that love sometimes comes with a few rules. If you’re looking for a cat who will immediately crawl into your lap, Lucille may not be your girl. But if you’re looking for a beautiful, funny, independent girl who will slowly learn to trust you—and then give you the incredible gift of her friendship—Lucille might just be your perfect match. Lucille’s house rules: Respect my boundaries. Provide acceptable climbing opportunities. Never underestimate the importance of Churu treats. Wet food is not optional. Allow me to come to you. In return, I may just decide you’re pretty wonderful. Here's a direct link to our cat application https://airtable.com/shrGSvgMTS3wUQn2H

Kacy was discovered at a construction site for a house where several cats were being hoarded. Despite her challenging beginnings, she has proven to be an incredibly sweet girl who quickly wins over everyone she meets. One of Kacy's most distinctive features is her bob tail, which makes her stand out from the crowd. She has a gentle disposition and is very affectionate with our volunteers. Among the other cats, Kacy is recognized as the alpha, displaying confidence and leadership. Although Kacy gets along well with people, she would truly thrive as the only cat in a household.
