Elsie arrived at the shelter in May 2025. She was being fostered in New Bethlehem, PA. The person who was fostering her could no longer keep her. She is still timid and afraid of her new environment. Kacy was discovered at a construction site for a house where several cats were being hoarded. Despite her challenging beginnings, she has proven to be an incredibly sweet girl who quickly wins over everyone she meets. One of Kacy's most distinctive features is her bob tail, which makes her stand out from the crowd. She has a gentle disposition and is very affectionate with our volunteers. Among the other cats, Kacy is recognized as the alpha, displaying confidence and leadership. Although Kacy gets along well with people, she would truly thrive as the only cat in a household. Jasmine arrived at the shelter during the summer of 2019, coming from Homer City after a tragic incident in which her mother was struck by a car. While all of her siblings have since found loving families and been adopted, Jasmine is still searching for her forever home. Jasmine's beautiful markings make her a truly unique Calico. Her distinct appearance sets her apart and highlights her individuality among the other cats at the shelter. Over time, Jasmine has become quite independent. Missy May and her siblings were brought to the shelter after they were found outside. Their owner passed away and they were left outside. She is very frightened. Gravity came to the shelter with a litter of kittens. Her babies have all been adopted but poor Gravity is still waiting for her furever home! She has become less timid and accepts attention from our volunteers. Meet Oreo! Oreo was brought to ICHS along with a few other cats after the person who was taking care of them passed away. Oreo and his friends came to us spayed, neutered, and with tipped ears. So, due to that and them being under-socialized, we can assume that these guys were someone's outside cats. That being said these cats are making progress every day! Oreo has gone from hating his new life here at the shelter to becoming pretty content. While he still isn't the biggest fan of people, Oreo is getting there and currently accepts pets through the cage! Oreo loves the other cats though. He meows at our staff to let him out for playtime with his friends. When Oreo isn't hanging out with the other cat residents you can typically find him playing with toys, wrapped up like a burrito in his blanket, or snacking on some treats!
