Story
Pica is a beautiful girl. She was returned with her cat companion after 5 years. Her adopter was aging and could not care for them. Her companion was adopted and Pica is looking for a good home. She is a portly girl who does like her food. She has been on a slimming program and should be maintained on it. Pica is friendly but is reserved around humans. However, she loves to play with her favorite wand toy. She would do best in either a single cat home or with another quiet cat. No dogs. Contact us at animalrescuecarolina@yahoo.com for more information about this lovely girl.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 9:47 pm

Story
Sweet Ellaree born 10/1/21 whose life started out grimly after she seemed to hitch a ride in a car engine. We really don't know how she survived after having two broken legs on one side and her tail ripped off, but she did!!! And she came out of it with a beautiful personality and is a lap cat extraordinaire. She is your love bug but does not want to share with any other furry friends. Great with children. She is a nibbler when she is hungry, nothing major but she wants her dinner!  She has a playful streak too, so when she isn’t in the comfort of your lap or a warm window sill, she’s batting around her favorite toys. Ellaree does have FIV which to anyone who has read about this, is not the condition that was once thought, and cats can live long, healthy lives. At adoption events, you’ll hear Ellaree talking—asking for attention from everyone that walks by. She leans into pets through the kennel bars and dreams of finding her perfect forever home.  Come meet Ellaree at our adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 at PetSmart on Harbison and be prepared to fall in love! Complete an application at https://form.jotform.com/241715082920149 or e-mail us at animalrescuecarolina@yahoo.com with any questions.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 12, 2025, 1:28 pm

Good with cats,
Story
She was born to a Tabby cat that I have about 5 months ago. Her coloring is spectacular. She is very gentle and affectionate. She watches everything going on around her. She likes to climb to elevated spaces to observe things. I would like to find a good home for her to live in because I have to keep her outside because of my allergies.

Story
🐾 PROJECT KITTEN: Libya 📍 Lexington, SC ✨ About Libya Age: ~6 months (DOB ~3/25/25) Breed: Domestic Short Hair – mostly white with a few soft grey spots Size: Very tiny! At just 4–5 lbs, she’s about 2 lbs smaller than most kittens her age. Her mom and siblings are all petite too, so she’ll stay adorably small even when grown. Gender: Female Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, ear-tipped, tattooed, dewormed, up to date on rabies & FVRCP vaccines, and current on flea prevention 💜 Libya’s Story Libya came from a TNR colony and has made amazing progress learning to trust people. With me, she’s become a total sweetheart — affectionate, playful, and loving. But meeting new people? That’s still hard for her. She’ll act nearly feral at first, just like she did when she first arrived. With a little patience and a calm approach, though, she completely transforms. It took about a month for her to warm up to me, and she’ll do the same for her new person — someone who gives her space, kindness, and consistency. She’s been great with other animals she has interacted with and would do best in a peaceful home where she can feel secure and open up on her own timeline. Think of her as a little “project kitten” — one who’ll repay your patience a hundredfold once she feels safe. 💌 Interested? Message or comment below! Please include Libya’s name when you reach out — I’m helping rehome several rescues right now. An adoption application and contract are required to ensure a great match. Let’s find this tiny, brave girl the loving home she deserves! 🐱💕

Story
✨🐾 Sweet Senior Looking for Her Forever Home! 🐾✨ 📍 Location: Lexington, SC 💖 Name: Freya 🎂 Age: ~14.5 years (DOB: ~1/1/11) 🐱 Breed: DSH – Patched Brown Tabby 👩‍🦰 M/F: Female 🩺 Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Spayed ✅ Vaccines updated 8/29 or 9/5 ✅ UTD on flea prevention 🐾 Good with dogs, cats, kids? Yes! Freya has been fine with all of the above. She doesn’t love other animals in her personal space, but she’s learned to tolerate even the overly affectionate ones around her. ⚠️ Aggression/Medical Issues: None! 🚽 House/crate trained?: Litter trained! 🌟 About Freya (personality & story): Freya is an absolute lovebug 💕 She enjoys treats, pets, and even chatting with you (yes, she’s quite the talker 🗣️🐾). While she isn’t a fan of being held, she loves coming up on her own to spend time with you. Her story is heartbreaking but inspiring: she was rescued from a hoarder house 2 years ago, where she had been kept in a cage for a decade 💔 With the help of a patient foster, she blossomed into a confident, social butterfly 🦋—often the very first to greet strangers for attention. Despite her “senior” age, Freya acts nothing like it! Everyone who meets her is shocked when they hear she’s 14. She could easily be one of those magical kitties who lives happily into her 20s. ✨ 📩 Interested? Message or comment! Please include her name (“Freya”) so we know which rescue you’re inquiring about. 📝 Adoption application & contract required to ensure she goes to a loving home. 💜 Freya has already been through so much… let’s make sure her golden years are truly golden. 🐾👑
