Story
Hi, my name is Hilda! But those who know me call me Hilly Dilly. I was found abandoned, shivering in a cold January morning. I about a year and a half, and still have some puppy in me. I am a very calm and quiet dog, eager to please, but I do get excited when my foster parents come home and specially when it is treat time. I also like going outside to explore the backyard, but prefer it when my foster parents or foster dog friends are out there with me. I am a very gentle girl who loves to be petted. As far as my breed, I could be a mixture of many things, but my foster parents think I have some Corgi in me because of my eyes and small head with pointy snout and ears. They say I'm a tall corgi, whatever that means. I am only 28lbs, so just the perfect in between small and medium size.
I can be very shy and timid at first. It’ll take me a bit to realize you’re not a threat, but once I do, I’d love nothing more than to be your shadow. I am mostly quiet – I’m only vocal when I need to remind you it’s meal time, or I need out of my kennel to potty.
When I’m not lounging on the couch, I love playing with toys. I also enjoy being out in the yard with the other dogs. I'd love to have a friend to play with. I’m very submissive and get along with all the little dogs in the home where I currently live. My foster mom can tell when I need to potty because I start pacing in circles. I know the word outside so I happily follow her out. I am working on walking on a leash, but I don’t love it yet! I am an excellent car rider too!
I am spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. I am ready for my forever home! If you think you have the loving home I need, please don’t hesitate to let my foster parents know by filling out an application.
Hilly sleeps in her kennel all night without issues; however, she does not like being in it during the day. She still sometimes chews on things like pillows, cardboard, and shoelaces. She only does it if she isn't being watched. She's very good at dropping anything she is not supposed to have by just being told no. She's eager to please and a very fast learner. She is potty trained to go outside and also uses training pads. She would do best in a home with a yard. Hilly is a happy, very sweet and calm young pup who deserves to be shown humans are good.
