Story
Searching for a furry friend who's the ultimate fetch enthusiast? Look no further than Jasper! This handsome guy is a fetch aficionado—his enthusiasm knows no bounds. Picture this: he'll eagerly toss the ball right back at you, ready for round after round of this beloved game. If you need a master at fetch, Jasper's your go-to guy! Jasper's not just about fun and games; he's a well-behaved, smart pup with an incredible zest for life. Although we haven't had much time for extensive training, his intelligence shines through. With a bit of guidance and love, he's sure to learn new tricks in a flash! At approximately 2-3 years old, Jasper's bursting with energy and a deep love for running and playing. Heartworm negative and sporting a unique blend of Canaan Dog and Carolina Dog (or something equally charming), he's as unique as they come. However, Jasper craves a home that can match his energy levels and provide him with the regular exercise he adores. Could your home be the one he's been dreaming of? He's all set for adoption or fostering, and if fostering sounds like a fit, Scout's Honor Rescue will cover all expenses. It's an opportunity to make a huge difference in Jasper's life while experiencing the joy of his playful antics! If you're ready to welcome this ball of energy into your life—be it as a forever companion or temporary foster—fill out an application on www.scoutshonor.org. Jasper's eagerly waiting to become the heartwarming addition to your family! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Looking for an active, smart boy who would love a structured home with plenty of exercise?  Chevy is your guy!     Chevy has been in our program for a few years now as he needs to go to that perfect home that understands him and his needs.  You see, Chevy is a working/herding breed of dog and was on his own to fend for himself for so long on the rough streets of Houston that he's leery of people until he gets to know you.  Chevy had been living under a truck for a while (it was a Chevy) while a Scout's Honor volunteer was working to gain his trust. He kept going every day to feed him and give him some attention. The business near where he was let him come onto their property and provided him some shelter.  Unfortunately, because there was a busy street nearby, Chevy got bumped by a few cars when he was out and about and lost a few teeth as a result.  Luckily, he did not sustain any significant injuries, and just needed to eat and get a bath.  Fast-forward a few years, Chevy is in boarding and loves other dogs and loves to play !  He is a high energy dog, but is also very smart and alert. He needs A LOT of exercise and positive reinforcement, but will pick up very quickly on what you are teaching him. He would be a great dog for agility or flyball!!  As long as you keep him busy and challenged he will impress you with how well he can learn things. He just wants someone who will give him the direction, attention and structure he wants/needs. He would make a great dog for an active home with NO kiddos.  Kiddos are just too unpredictable for this guy.  He also needs a home that understands how to properly introduce him to new people and watch his cues.  Chevy can be very protective of his people and area, so proper intros are a must.  He would do best in a home that does not have a lot of new people coming in/out. True to his Kelpie/Basenji breed, Chevy likes to herd and run and play .  Check out this video of him just having a grand time running - look at those turns!      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L81s-TWX9SA&feature=youtu.be  Kelpie's/Basenji's are unique problem solvers and will find a way to do whatever he deems necessary.  True to these breed, he will also be fierlcy protective of his family (getting back to proper intros).  Chevy fits these traits to a T, and anyone who knows and loves the herding breeds would just adore little Chevy!!   Chevy is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped.   Please contact us at info@scoutshonor.org if you are interested in fostering or adopting this precious guy!  You can read all about our foster and adoption process, as well as make a donation for his care, on our website at www.scoutshonor.org.    Scout's Honor Rescue is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill TX shelters. EIN # is 87-0773073 Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/scoutshonorrescue or Instagram at www.instagram.com/scoutshonorrescue We have multiple ways to donate: Venmo:  @ScoutsHonor-Rescue Paypal: www.paypal.me/scoutshonorrescue   https://scoutshonor.org/take-action/donate/ We are strictly volunteer based, no salaries are paid and 100% of donations go towards rescuing dogs April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Dani is a sweet, dainty girl. SHR rescued this doll just in the nick of time. She was out of time and on the euthanasia list. When we went to meet her and she was a little shy and seemed scared and overwhelmed by all the noise and commotion at the shelter. She was in her kennel with her tail between her legs and backed into the corner. However, once we got her outside somewhere quiet and calm she loosened up and began to want attention. By the time we left with her she was sitting up in the back seat looking out the window.    She is a medium sized dog and only weighs about 35 or 40 pounds. She looks to be a cross between a Basenji and a Shiba Inu. She is good with other dogs, as we tested her with three different dogs. (She also rode loose in the car with two other dogs and they are were friendly with each other).    Please consider giving Dani a chance. She just wants a nice comfortable place where she can be happy. Let’s get this little girl out of boarding and into a foster or forever home where she can flourish!  April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Bean is a really sweet boy once he gets to know a person. He can be a little reserved at first. He loves to play and is crate and leash trained. Bean would love a fur brother or sister to show him the ropes but, he could be an only dog with the right family. He loves kids. ##1560401##
