Story
Layla is a striking, sensitive dog who is beginning her journey toward understanding what life in a home can look like. She is currently looking for a very patient, experienced adopter who can help her continue building confidence at her own pace.In the shelter environment, Layla has shown that she can be cautious and slow to warm up to new people and situations. She has had moments where she prefers space and needs time to process what is happening around her, especially in busy or unfamiliar settings. At times, when feeling overwhelmed, she may communicate her discomfort through clear body language and a need for distance.Once given the opportunity to move at her own speed, Layla has shown that she can engage with her environment and explore more comfortably, especially when she feels safe and unpressured. Her behaviour suggests a dog who is still learning how to navigate social interaction and trust in new settings.Layla will do best in a calm, adult-only home that understands canine body language. She is not suited for a home with other dogs or cats at this time, and a quieter environment outside of busy urban settings may help set her up for success. While Layla is still a work in progress, she has the potential to grow with the right support, structure, and understanding. For someone experienced and compassionate, she offers the opportunity to help a dog truly learn that the world can be a safe place.A little bit about Layla:-Kids: No experience with children. Recommend an adult only home.-Cats/Small Animals: No experience with cats or small animals. Recommend no cats or small animals in the home.-Dogs: Limited exposure to other dogs. Recommend only dog in the home.

Story
Meet Lisa! She previously lived on an acreage and enjoyed long days of exploring wonderful smells and relaxing in the sun. She` s a calm, quiet soul who tends to be timid, but is starting to enjoy gentle pets and head scritches from trusted friends.Lisa is still very cautious of slippery floors, doorways, and vehicles. She`ll likely thrive as an outdoor dog with a committed family, or in a home with a fenced yard and lots of patience to help her learn and grow. She will make a wonderful friend for someone who can let her learn and grow at her own speed! Visit this lovely girl today to learn more about her!A bit about Lisa:- no history with children; potentially suitable for upper elementary children able to read and respect body language- limited history with cats; cats not recommended- only dog in home recommended

Story
Sandy is a beautiful, calm, gentle giant! She`s settled into our shelter well and enjoys soft pets and relaxed sniffing sessions. Sandy has always been an acreage dog - her breed and history suggests she would thrive as an outdoor dog with a family who can give her space to explore and learn at her own pace.Sandy may also do well in a quiet neighbourhood with easy access to a fenced yard. She will need patience as she navigates the in and outs of indoor living such as house training, leashed walks and car rides. She could make a wonderful companion for someone who understands that Sandy needs to move at her own pace. Visit this lovely girl today to learn more about her!A bit about Sandy:- no history with children; potentially suitable for upper elementary children able to read and respect body language- limited history with cats; cats not recommended- only dog in home recommended
