Hi… my name is Draco ??I came from a local breeder. I’m a Cane Corso, a big boy—over 90 pounds—but if you look into my eyes, you’ll see I’m just a gentle soul who’s been let down.I don’t really understand how I ended up here.I’ve spent most of my life lying on concrete…you can see it in the painful calluses on my legs. I’ve learned to be quiet, to take up as little space as possible, to just exist where I was placed. But I’ve always wanted more…a soft place to rest, a kind hand, someone to love me.I tested positive for heartworms…again. I was treated once before, but I guess somewhere along the way, I was forgotten. At my age—8 years old this fall—I’m not a candidate to go through treatment again.Storms scare me so much. I get so anxious that I need medication just to get through them. I wish I had someone to sit with me, to tell me I’m safe…maybe one day I will.Even after everything, I’m still so gentle.I walk nicely on a leash. I take treats softly from your hand. I lean in for affection because I don’t want it to end. I don’t ask for much…just a little love, a little patience, and a place where I finally belong.I’m up to date on my vaccines. I’m neutered.
