Hi, I’m Draven!
2.5 years old | Cane Corso | Currently 83 lbs (with some to gain!)
I’m a big, goofy Cane Corso who’s a lot more Scooby Doo than a guard dog. New people and places can make me a little nervous, but give me some time to get comfortable and you’ll see I'm just a big, wiggly goofball!
I came to FCAC with several other dogs after our family could no longer care for us. I lived with at least seven other dogs and we didn’t get out much, so the world outside of that home is all pretty new to me. I’m really just a big scaredy cat who needs a little patience and someone to help me feel safe.
Since I’ve lived with other dogs my size whole life, the shelter expects me to do well with dog friends, with introductions to make sure we get along.
No small children, small dogs or cats please!
I also need a family willing to give me some extra care. At my neuter appointment, the vet noticed orthopedic concerns with all four limbs, along with several calluses. Despite my young age, they estimated me at 5 years old. I'm also very underweight. My legs don’t line up quite how they should, and the way I walk causes calluses on my feet. I still run and play just fine though! I’ll just need regular vet care to help figure out what keeps me feeling my best, which may include a daily joint supplement and help managing aches and pains. It will also be important to teach children to be gentle and respectful with me.
I can be leery with strangers, young kids and small animals but have so much love left to give.

Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Please allow 24-36 hours for a response. If approved, we will contact you to schedule a meet & greet! Any other dogs in the home must come along and some dogs may require all family members to come as well! If it's a match, you can your new dog home the same day.
We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!
