Story
This beautiful three year old Cane Corso weighs approximately 100 pounds and is everything many people love about the breed. Loyal, affectionate, and devoted to her people. She enjoys attention, loves being with her family, and doesn't take long to warm up to new people. She does not mind getting her nails clipped or a bath which speaks to her temperament. She was also favorite at her previous shelter which says a lot about what a beautiful soul she isAlthough we have not observed these behaviors yet in our care, Sequoia's previous owners reported some resource guarding behaviors in the home. They reported that she had displayed resource guarding in the home involving the unaltered male Cane Corso she lived with and a young child.Because of her size, breed traits, and reported history, we are looking for an adult only home with no other pets that understands large guardian breeds and is committed to providing structure, supervision, and appropriate management. As with any newly adopted dog, we recommend allowing her time to decompress and learn the expectations of her new home.LoyalLovingReady for a fresh startWe also provide training to any approved adopters. If you think you may be the right fit for this beautiful girl, we would love to hear from you.If interested in adopting Sequoia, please fill out an application found at www.allaboutthepawz.comLocated in Youngstown, Ohio - must be within an hour or so of Youngstown.*we do not respond to inquires or matches, please fill out an application and we will reach out via email once received*

Story
Meet Big Luna, our gentle giant with a heart every bit as big as her paws. Don’t let her size fool you because this beautiful girl is convinced she is a lap dog and plans to spend her life proving it! Her favorite place in the world is curled up beside her humans on the couch, soaking up every bit of attention she can get. Luna absolutely craves human interaction and loves being part of the family. She is a silly, goofy girl with lots of personality and plenty of love to give. She enjoys carrying toys around, dragging blankets from room to room, relaxing during downtime, and finding her own creative ways to stay entertained. Luna is house trained, crate trained, and knows basic manners. She enjoys her quiet time and prefers to eat her meals alone in her extra extra large crate where she can relax and enjoy her food in peace. Luna is very dog friendly and has lived in one of our busiest foster homes where she has been introduced to well over 100 dogs. She has successfully met dogs ranging from a tiny 6-pound Chihuahua all the way up to giant breeds, with all kinds of different personalities and temperaments. Because Luna is a large girl, she can sometimes come across as a little intimidating at first meeting, so proper introductions are important. She can happily live with another dog or do just as well being the center of attention as an only dog. While Luna has done well around a parrot, she is not a fan of cats or smaller critters, so a home without cats or other small animals would be best. Luna enjoys long walks and taking in the world around her. While in rescue, she tore an ACL and underwent surgery. During recovery, she unfortunately injured the opposite ACL, which healed through scar tissue development and strict activity restriction. She has recovered well and lives a happy life, but we do continue to manage her activity level. We do not encourage high impact running or excessive stair use, although she can do stairs when needed. Luna has never been around very young children, so we are looking for a home with older children who understand and respect a dog her size. If you are looking for a goofy, loving, oversized cuddle bug who believes personal space is optional and couch privileges are mandatory, Luna may just be your perfect match. -We only place dogs in homes that meet THEIR needs. -Be sure to visit our Facebook page for additional pictures and information on our rescues! Story
Ben is an outstanding dog. All he wants to do is play and be loved. Such a gentle soul. Someone dumped him at a truck stop so when I found him, he just walked right up. little puppy very skinny and fragile. I picked him up gave him a bath and feed him. He had been my buddy ever since. It seems he was being abused cause he would jump at every little noise and get low to the floor. I was only suppose to keep him a couple days but the people that said they would take him didn’t so I started taking care of him. Work a busy schedule so had to start putting him in daycare. SO affectionate. Always wants to cuddle, touch or give kisses. He needs more space he can run and some one that can give him more attention then I can. He deserves it. He really is an amazing and GOOD LOOKING, healthy boy. This is the hard part for me. I deal with chronic anxiety so he is a little detector when I’m having a panic attack. He comes and lays on me or pushes his body against my back to calm me, on his own
