Story
Meet Rex! Rex is a totally sweet 11-month-old, 20 lb. Cardigan Corgi / Miniature Aussie Shepherd with a gorgeous Merle coat who’s looking for a new place to land. He is an energetic, young boy but  his person has knee problems preventing long walks and adventures, so Rex will enjoy being with adopter(s) who can give him the walks, hikes, training and exercise that will help him thrive. Rex is a bit sensitive to new people due to an unfortunate incident when he was a young puppy, but he’s also a fast learner!  With a good force free trainer, who we recommend, he’ll become a wonderful companion for the right home. He’s great with other dogs, neutered, housetrained, crate-trained and up to date on his vaccines. We're saying no kids under 15, as Rex hasn’t had much experience with them. Cats will take some work as he's young and will chase a cat if it runs. He sleeps in his crate at night and also naps on the bed. He does great in the car but occasionally alerts his person that there are people nearby on the street. He knows his basic cues and is working on new ones.  Rex will need a home with a fenced yard and room to roam. No apartments or condos for this active boy! Rex is a total love bug once he gets to know you. We highly recommend his adopter(s) continue his training program with an experienced, force-free trainer to help him learn that people can be trusted and loving.  For more info and/or to apply to adopt Rex, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

Story
Teddie is a 5 year old small girl we're guessing to be a corgi or chihuahua mix. She will need a quieter home with patience and someone that gives her time to trust, she prefers her own space and some alone time. Since being in foster she has started engaging in play with other dogs. She has allowed her foster to come face to face and cuddle. Leash training has been introduced with some resistance. She loves snacks. We have not seen her with kids or cats yet. She is about 25 lbs, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
