Story
Meet Jenny! This connecting Carolina dog/shepherd mix is 39 pounds and two years old. She is ready to say so long to kennel life and head home with you today! Jenny is a very affectionate girl who gives the best kisses. She walks well on her leash and always sits nicely for her treats which she takes gently. We've begun to see her playful side and she likes playing ball and cruising the yard with her kennel mates. Jenny recently went on an outing with one of our awesome volunteers and had the best time! They headed to our pals at Pupper Budder where she met some new furry friends. Next was Pet Supplies Plus where she was excited to meet new people and their pups. Jenny tends to match the energy of the dogs she meets. They finished the day up with a walk at the lake, hitting up Tractor Supply, and of course what outing would be complete without a tasty treat that she gobbled right up! She rides well in the car and is ready to hit the road with you! Once she's done doing zoomies in the snow, Jenny always makes time for some snuggles with volunteers and will never turn down a belly rub. After playtime is over, she heads back into her kennel when you toss some treats in with her. As she is still a young lady, Jenny will thrive in a home with continued training, daily exercise and a nice yard to enjoy! One thing we know for sure is she will be an excellent addition to one lucky family! Based on our evaluation, we feel Jenny would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids five eight and up. She may have the ability to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think she could be the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit your application for our jovial Jenny!

Story
Meet Marmon! SPECTACULAR SENIOR ALERT! THRIVING IN FOSTER!! GREAT WITH KIDS, PUPS & CATS!! No senior pup deserves to spend their later years in animal control, so when we were made aware of this 13-year-old, 50-pound Carolina/hound mix, we just knew he belonged with a GLDR foster family and not in a kennel! Marmon is currently loving life curled up on a comfy bed with a foster family that is showing him just how good life can be. He hasn't had the easiest life till now and we are looking for a family that will give him all the love he can handle. He lives with another dog as well as a feline friend and does very well with both of them. Marmon isn't a super playful guy, but instead is content to be close to his canine fur sister. He is respectful of the cat and prefers to keep his space from her. House-trained and crate-trained, Marmon aims to please! We believe he may be hard of hearing, so his foster family is working on hand signals with him. He hasn’t come across a treat he doesn’t like! As he is an older gentleman, he will benefit from a calm, predictable home where he will have all of the comforts he was never given before. Marmon is good on leash and in the car. He does well being bathed as well. To show you his gratitude for your kindness, he will give you the most gentle chin kisses that you will treasure everyday. Marmon will need time and patience to adjust to his new surroundings and we know the family that brings him home will truly be blessed to make him part of the family. At the end of a fun-filled day, Marmon always enjoys snuggling up with his foster family! He sleeps quietly through the night, thankful for his foster family and dreaming of a family that will give him everything he deserves and more. Based on our evaluation, we feel Marmon would do best in calm, predictable home with adults or families with kids eight and up. Though he does well with kids of all ages, we think a calmer environment would be best for him. He has the potential to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you would like to give Marmon the home he truly deserves, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our kind-hearted boy.
