Story
Barney is a nearly six-year-old gentleman with a soft, creamy orange coat and a luxurious feather-duster tail that swishes with quiet elegance. He carries himself with a calm, easygoing presence, happiest when he is curled up by the front window or perched somewhere high, watching the world drift by. Affectionate and devoted, Barney thrives on gentle attention. He leans into every brushstroke and happily soaks up pets, especially if it leads to his favorite spot -your lap, provided there’s a cozy blanket involved. He is the kind of cat who makes a house feel welcoming, greeting everyone at the door and faithfully coming to check in when his people return home. With his serene nature and loving heart, Barney is a quiet companion who brings warmth and comfort simply by being nearby. When he was in rescue in 2022 he was cat and dog friendly. He has not lived with another animal for 4 years, but should be fine with proper introduction.

Story
Meet Begonia, a beautiful calico with a gentle soul and the softest little presence. Quiet and shy, Begonia is looking for a patient, understanding family who will let her move at her own pace as she learns to feel safe and at home. For Begonia, trust is a slow journey — it may take months, or even longer — but every small step she takes is meaningful and hard-earned. While she may not be ready for pets or cuddles yet, Begonia shows her affection in her own sweet ways. She will happily lick a squeeze treat from your fingers, quietly keep you company, and at night, she has even started joining her foster on the bed — a huge sign of growing confidence. She truly wants to connect; she just needs time and kindness to get there. Begonia absolutely loves the company of other animals and would thrive in a home with a friendly cat or calm dog. She is almost always curled up near her furry companions, whether that’s snoozing on the dog bed when it is free or stretching out in a warm patch of sunlight. She is an easy, peaceful companion who asks for very little and causes no trouble at all. Despite her difficult start in life, Begonia has impeccable manners. She does not jump on counters, scratch furniture, or demand attention. She is healthy, tiny, incredibly adorable, and so deserving of a forever home where she can continue to blossom in her own time. Begonia may never be the kind of cat who rushes into your arms — but for the right person, earning her trust will be something truly special.

Story
Meet Tabitha—the gentle heart of a bonded duo (see her Polydactyl sister, Natasha!) and quite possibly the most darling, peace-bringing kitty you will ever encounter. With her stunning orange coat and soft, bunny like fur and even softer, soulful presence, Tabitha has a way of making any space feel instantly calmer and warmer. She is the definition of a sweetheart. Affectionate, serene, and endlessly loving, Tabitha is a true lap cat who eagerly seeks attention. Her gentle nature makes her an easy companion. She is the kind of cat who just gets it, whether you need comfort, company, or a little extra warmth. Tabitha is also her sister Natasha’s anchor in the world. As the braver, more confident of the pair, she acts as Natasha’s security blanket—offering reassurance, companionship, and constant cuddles. Watching them together is something special; their bond is deep, loving, and unbreakable. While Tabitha will quickly become your new best friend, she is happiest when she has her sister by her side. These two must be adopted together, and with Tabitha leading the way, they will fill your home with twice the love, sweetness, and serenity. If you are looking for a loyal, loving companion (and a built-in best friend duo), Tabitha is ready to steal your heart. Tabitha seems fascinated by the large breed dog in her foster home. With proper introduction to a cat friendly dog, the girls should do well.

Story
Meet our special little polydactyl princess—a one-of-a-kind kitty with extra toes on all four paws! Those adorable “mittens” make her even more charming (and extra skilled at batting toys around). This sweet girl is a bit of a fraidy cat at heart. New environments and people can feel overwhelming at first, so she will need a patient, understanding home willing to give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. While she is building her confidence, she will be a quiet, harmless, and undeniably cute little houseguest, often observing the world from a cozy, safe spot. Once she feels comfortable, her playful side shines, especially when the fishing wand toy comes out! It is her absolute favorite, and watching her pounce with those extra-toed paws is pure joy. See the attached video! Her greatest comfort, though, is her beloved sister, Tabitha. The two share an incredibly strong bond and can often be found snuggled up together. Tabitha is the more confident of the pair—a sweet-as-pie lap cat who loves human affection and helps her sister feel safe and secure. Because of their deep connection, these sisters must be adopted together. With Tabitha’s loving presence and a patient adopter, this shy little polydactyl girl will slowly blossom into a devoted and endearing companion. If you are looking to open your heart and home to a bonded pair, these two will reward you with double the love—and double the cuddles. The sisters seem fine with a large breed dog in the foster home. With proper introduction to a cat-friendly dog, they should adjust easily.

Otto Neutered male DOB est May 23, 2024 Otto is a stunning ginger boy with the sweetest, most soulful eyes. Can you believe this poor guy was in Portage Pound for a month with noone scooping him up to a loving home? This handsome guy is a total people-lover—he absolutely adores attention and will happily reward you with nonstop purrs. If you’re looking for a certified purr machine, Otto is your guy! Once he feels safe, his loving personality truly shines. Otto loves to play, especially with noisy cat balls and interactive toys, but he’s just as happy lounging in a sunny spot, soaking up the warmth and enjoying a lazy afternoon. When it comes to food, Otto isn’t picky, but he definitely has favorites—shredded Special Kitty canned food and Tiki Cat treats are at the top of his list! He also absolutely adores his friend Duchess and enjoys feline companionship once he’s comfortable.
