Story
Meet Benson — a gentle, shy sweetheart looking for a patient home to call his own. Benson may take a little time to warm up, but once he feels safe, he’s a calm and loving companion who enjoys quiet company and cozy spaces. He’s currently recovering from a toe injury and is doing very well — he’s healing nicely and taking it all in stride.Benson has lived peacefully with three other cats and gets along well with feline friends. He was also around dogs when he was younger and did well with them. He’s good with kids, especially those who understand that shy cats need a little patience and kindness. One thing Benson does appreciate is a very clean litter box — he can be a bit particular about it, so a tidy setup will help him feel comfortable and confident in his new home.If you’re looking for a sweet, quiet companion who just needs a little time and understanding to shine, Benson could be the perfect match for you.

Story
Meet Violet — a sweet little survivor with a story to tell. When Violet first arrived at the shelter, she was understandably a bit grumpy as she came in with a tail injury that required amputation. But once removed and given time to settle into her foster home, her true personality bloomed. Now she’s a gentle, goofy girl who loves comfort, kindness, and quiet companionship. Violet is ready to leave her rough past behind and find a loving home that is willing to give her the time she needs to open up.Violet would be best suited in a quiet home with another cat who can continue helping violet build her confidence as she can be quite timid in new environments.

Story
Meet Bridget — a young, independent barn cat ready to get to work.Bridget isn’t suited for indoor pet life, but she has all the instincts needed to thrive as a working cat, helping keep rodents under control. She prefers minimal human interaction and will do best in a safe barn or outbuilding with regular food, water, and shelter. With a proper, gradual acclimation to her new space, Bridget will become a reliable, low-maintenance addition to your property.WHAT IS A BARN BUDDY?The PEI Humane Society “Barn Buddy” program provides cats previously considered unadoptable, due to being feral and/or under socialized, the opportunity to live in select gardens, barns or nurseries. A Barn Buddy isn’t suited for indoor living. We do not adopt cats who are suitable to be house pets through this program. Only cats without other options are eligible to be in the Barn Buddies program. If you have a working farming operation or safe, heated outbuilding, there are cats that want you to put them to work. These working whiskers are natural mousers and will help keep down the rodent population. The cats will be helping you and you will be helping them by providing them with a safe place to live. All they ask for in return is shelter, food, water and care! Best of all, when you give our cats a job, you’re saving the lives of homeless pets that otherwise would not have been suitable for adoption. Their adoption fee is $45 and come spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. We ask that you provide:– Shelter in safe and heated barns, shops, warehouses or other suitable buildings– Daily food and water – cats cannot live on mousing alone!– Bedding– Litter box and litter

Story
Meet Hubcap! This handsome hunk is equal parts charm and comedy. Hubcap is a friendly, easygoing guy who loves being around people and isn’t shy about showing off his goofy side. Whether he’s flopping dramatically for attention or zooming after absolutely nothing, he brings a lot of personality into a room.Hubcap enjoys affection and will happily hang out with you for pets and company, but like many cool dudes, he sometimes gets a little overstimulated if things get too intense. He’s great at giving signals when he needs a break, and with a bit of understanding, he settles right back into his usual chill self.Overall, he’s a laid-back, good-natured cat who just wants a cozy spot, some love, and a human who appreciates his quirks. We’re not sure how Hubcap feels about other animals, so slow introductions (or a solo-pet home) would be the safest bet.If you’re looking for a lovable goofball with movie-star looks and a heart of gold, Hubcap might just be your guy.
