Story
Brock is a tiny heart wrapped in a whole lot of shyness. This sweet kitten is very nervous about the big, busy world around him, and when he feels unsure, he may let out a little hiss to say, “I’m scared.” It’s not sass — it’s just his way of asking for patience and understanding.Brock will need a calm, quiet home and a family willing to give him all the time he needs to feel safe. He’s not the kind of kitten who will rush into your arms on day one. Instead, he’s a gentle soul who will slowly blossom with consistency, soft voices, and lots of love. With patience, he’ll learn that hands bring kindness, not fear, and that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.**Indoor onlyWHAT IS A SPIRIT CAT?Spirit Cats are lively but independent animals. This means that they are shy and under-socialized. This can be caused by any number of factors, but commonly, this stems from their introduction to human beings happening at a later stage of developmentA spirit cat`s understanding of companionship will take some time to develop, but with your patience and support, they can become more comfortable with you in your home. A quiet environment will suit them best, with respectful family members who understand their needs. It is most important that Spirit Cats go to a loving home that understands their unique needs and will allow the relationship to grow in the cat`s own time. The beauty, grace, and charm of a Spirit Cat fills a home with love! Though you may not see them very often, you will never be home alone and will always have a companion nearby.**Brock has URI (Upper Respiratory Infection) this is caused by a virus and stressful events or environment which can trigger a relapse. He`s recovering well, but is still showing signs. He needs to be indoor only as environmental factors can make him more susceptible to flare ups.**

Meet Polly! *In Foster CarePolly is a playful girl who loves interactive games—especially playing fetch with her ball! She may take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she becomes a cuddly and affectionate companion.Polly can get overstimulated at times, so she would do best in a calm home with children 10+ who understand when she needs space. She hasn’t lived with other animals and would likely be happiest as the only pet, though she may do okay with a calm, senior cat with slow introductions. If you’re looking for a playful kitty who also enjoys cozy cuddles, Polly could be the perfect match.

Story
Hello, I`m Carter, a seasoned barn cat with a spirit for independence. I`ve mastered the art of mousing and enjoy my days lounging in quiet corners. While I cherish solitude, I appreciate occasional human companionship . I`m looking for a home where I can roam freely, ideally with some space like a barn or a large yard. If you`re seeking a low-maintenance companion who`s an expert in natural pest control, I`m your cat. Adopt me and let`s enjoy the peaceful life together.WHAT IS A BARN BUDDY?The PEI Humane Society “Barn Buddy” program provides cats previously considered unadoptable, due to being feral and/or undersocialized, the opportunity to live in select gardens, barns or nurseries. A Barn Buddy isn’t suited for indoor living. We do not adopt cats who are suitable to be house pets through this program. Only cats without other options are eligible to be in the Barn Buddies program. If you have a working farming operation or safe, heated outbuilding, there are cats that want you to put them to work. These working whiskers are natural mousers and will help keep down the rodent population. The cats will be helping you and you will be helping them by providing them with a safe place to live. All they ask for in return is shelter, food, water and care! Best of all, when you give our cats a job, you’re saving the lives of homeless pets that otherwise would not have been suitable for adoption. Their adoption fee is $90 and come spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. We ask that you provide:– Shelter in safe and heated barns, shops, warehouses or other suitable buildings– Daily food and water – cats cannot live on mousing alone!– Bedding– Litter box and litter

Story
Dean is a shy, undersocialized guy who isn’t looking for the indoor pet life — he’s searching for a safe barn or working home where he can thrive with space and independence. He may be hissy and nervous around people, but he’s perfectly suited for a job keeping rodents in check.Dean would do best in a barn, stable, warehouse, or workshop where he’ll have reliable meals, fresh water, and a secure place to shelter. And the fastest way to stay on his good side? Food! ??? He loves to eat and will happily show up for mealtime.WHAT IS A BARN BUDDY?The PEI Humane Society “Barn Buddy” program provides cats previously considered unadoptable, due to being feral and/or under socialized, the opportunity to live in select gardens, barns or nurseries.
