Hi, I’m Benvolio. 💙 I really thought I had found my happily ever after. Almost two years ago, I left the Moose Jaw Humane Society with a family of my own. Somewhere along the way, life changed. I was rehomed, and recently I found myself out on the streets and caught in a trap. Thankfully, when I arrived at the vet, they scanned me for a microchip. Beep! And just like that, they knew exactly who I was. I’m Benvolio. I’m an MJHS alumni. And when the people at the shelter heard my name, they knew me right away. So here I am, back where part of my story began and looking for what feels like my fourth chance at happily ever after in just two short years. I can’t tell you everything that happened between the day I was adopted and the day I was found. I can’t tell you how I ended up outside or where the people I knew have gone. What I can tell you is that I’m safe now. And I’m ready to try again. This time, I’m hoping for the kind of forever that really does mean forever. A home where I can unpack my little imaginary suitcase, settle into my favourite sunny spot and know that I never have to wonder where I belong again. A driver nearly hit the tub, but thankfully stopped to investigate — and discovered this sweet little family inside. Since that day, life has looked very different for Estelle. She and her babies have spent the last six weeks in one of our amazing foster homes, where Estelle has been surrounded by kindness, comfort and love while she finished raising Etta, Elsie and Ellsworth. Meet Pika — she knows things. Pika is an ADORABLE little 2-month-old tortoiseshell kitten who arrived at the shelter as a stray, all by herself. We don't know much about her life before she came through our doors, but Pika has made one thing abundantly clear: She LOVES people. Pika can usually be found right at the front of her kennel, keeping a very close eye on everything happening around the shelter. Who just walked through the door? Where are they going? Why is that dog barking? Who got treats? Was there a meeting she wasn't invited to? We're not calling Pika a Nosy Nelly...but if you know torties, you know. This girl likes to be in the know, and we're fairly certain she'll be ready to spill all the shelter tea the moment you sit down for a visit. If you look closely at Pika's adorable little face, you may also notice that the whiskers on her right side have been chewed off. We have absolutely no idea what happened there, and Pika isn't talking. Apparently some information is confidential. It certainly hasn't slowed her down!
