The Catahoula Leopard Dog is an American dog breed named after Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. It became the state dog of Louisiana in 1979. Our sweet Catahoula hound Cookies probably hasn’t ever been to Louisiana, but we like to think she has a bit of a southern drawl to her bark! Here’s what one friend at the shelter said:“I’ve been taking Cookies out with her kennelmate fairly often and have become very fond of her. She’s nervous in the shelter (understandable) and has a tough time relaxing, but she has really come a long way and is friendly, seems to enjoy attention and affection, and is a very nice girl overall. She’ll benefit from some time to decompress, but she’s really just a big old puppy who needs a family to show her kindness and provide her with some routine and structure.”Catahoula’s do great with active, experienced families who can offer training and socialization. Cookies shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet her today!!

If we had to pick a favorite ice cream flavor, cookies and cream would definitely make its way to the top of the list! Cookies and cream milkshakes, ice cream cake… the list goes on and on! The cookies would be fine on their own, but the sweet cream just makes them pop! Much like cream makes the magic happen in our favorite frosty treat, we think our pup Sweet Cream will make your home all the sweeter! Here’s what a volunteer friend recently said:“Sweet Cream is a beautiful Catahoula lady who is gentle, affectionate and sweet! I had her and her kennel made out in a play yard today and she was super snuggly and friendly! She enjoyed sniffing around the yard and coming back to me for pets! She took treats with the most gentle mouth. She loved to cuddle and was easy to handle. Easy to take back to her kennel too. She’s a wonderful girl!”Sweet Cream shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. This lovely gal is ready to start the rest of her life with her furever family- come and meet her today!

Eris came from PACC shelter. She is around 2 years old. Eris is a very active and playful dog, plays well with humans. We were told she was house trained. She suffers from submissive urination. Thus house training has been frustrating and mostly unsuccessful. She would be perfect for a single house hold dog. Eris is amazing as a gaurd dog but can not be left out side in the desert heat all the time.
