Story
Maverick and several other dogs were abandoned in their home, left to fend for themselves.  He is friendly, playful, and loves attention.  Maverick is very good with other dogs, cats and kids too (but older kids because he gets excited and can knock little ones down on accident). He has a beautiful brindle coat and very unusual markings. Maverick is house trained and knows a few simple commands. He is also high energy and tends to jump up on people, begging for attention. Because of this, he will be enrolling in our Paws in Prison program soon to learn better behavior. We also know that Maverick has separation anxiety and will require a home that can take him everywhere with them. Due to his friendly personality and the training he will receive at the prison, that will not be an issue for whoever snags this sweetheart up. If you would like more information, please go to our website at www.schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you. Story
Merle is about 2 years old. He is playful, affectionate, and loves being included—Merle is happiest in a home with engagement and a steady rhythm. He travels well, enjoys people, and would thrive with an individual that he could accompany through out the day, a couple, a family, or a home with another dog. He's also good with cats. He’s been well-loved; I’m seeking a home that truly fits his needs. He isn't an overly active dog but he's not a background dog either. He does have higher social needs and would be best in a home where he can either travel with his person or has people there through out the day.
