Story
Meet Willow!Willow is an 11‑month‑old spayed female with a gentle and loving personality. She is very sweet but can be shy when first meeting new people, and she does best with a little patience and kindness as she warms up. Once she feels safe, her affectionate nature truly shines.Willow underwent a vulvoplasty in December after experiencing frequent urinary tract infections, and since her surgery she has been doing wonderfully. She is currently on a lifelong medication to manage incontinence, and since starting this medication she has had no issues at all. Her condition is well controlled, and she continues to live a happy, comfortable life.Willow is looking for a compassionate home that understands her medical needs and is willing to continue her care. With reassurance, routine, and love, she will make a devoted and rewarding companion. If you're searching for a sweet young dog who just needs a little extra understanding, Willow may be the perfect addition to your family. 💕🐾If you think she could be a good match, please fill out an online application and we will reach out to potential candidates to set up a meet and greet! Story
Wooohooo, hiya. My name is Koco (Cocoa) and below is info about me:Breed: Catahoula/Staffordshire Bull Terrier MixAge: 2 yrsGender:  FemaleWeight: 46 lbsCountry of origin: US, N MexicoHighlights: friendly, adaptive, sweet, loving, cuddly, loyal, playful, energetic, happy I am a sweet and loyal girl who will stick to you like velcro.Found as a stray in New Mexico, I was sent to a foster home with various other animals. There were 5 other dogs, a cat and horses.According to my foster mom I was good with the cat (no video though) and the horses. She also reported that I was a little jealous of the other dogs getting attention, so would probably do better in a home with fewer dogs, so there is plenty of love to go around. I have been great in multiple dog tests at boarding and loving with volunteers and staff.I am a cuddly pupper, who has show good adaptability. Though I did resource guard my food a bit at the foster home (likely from being on the streets surviving), my tail wags the entire meal. It is probably just a matter of time for me to realize I no longer have to struggle to ensure I get food. With a little work, that should subside.Recently, I enjoyed playing in the wading pool with a child. So older kids should be fine. There are so many positive words to describe my joy of life, there isn't space to list them. I'd love a fairly active home. One that is interested in getting out and about for fun times on a regular basis. I'm keen to learn new things. Whether you want to go paddleboarding, sailing, runs on a beach, hikes in a forest, do dog sports... let's do it. Afterward, let's snuggle close and crash on the couch like potatoes. You'll find me to be your bestest pal.Additional vids: https://youtube.com/shorts/O5euwFqI5dw?feature=share, https://youtube.com/shorts/1B9wkpdWaJ8?feature=share, https://youtube.com/shorts/lkD5F2zqU98?feature=share, https://youtube.com/shorts/-oPzcprjfT0?feature=share. Energy Level: moderate to highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown (foster states yes, but no video proof)Kids: yes Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: in process. Please help me complete learning. Health notes:My vaccinations are up to date and I will be spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to arrival. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to the Canadian border. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. ##2714243##

Hiya. I am ORINDA (Luna) and here is some info about me:Breed: Basenji/Australian Cattledog mixAge: 6 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 50 lbsHeight: 17 inchesCountry of origin: MexicoHighlight(s): smart, loyal, protective, stubborn, loving Being a loving dog, I like to hang out and lavish you with love and vice versa. Grin.Rescued from the streets of Mexico, I had just given birth to 4 pups. Thankfully, our rescuers found us. One of my daughters, Estrella is also posted.I like to play for a short while - then I'm done and ready to chill. Though I am a bit overweight and definitely need some more exercise. With other dogs in public, I get along great. My loyalty runs deep at home though. I can be protective of my family and home when it comes to strangers or new dogs. So proper intro is key. After that, all good. Likely best as an only or with a dog who is not interested in being the # 1 head honcho. It will be important to have a strong parental figure to teach me guidelines and boundaries, since I like to be more in charge.Being very smart, I can learn pretty quickly, but I can also be stubborn at times. So short training sessions may be most beneficial.I am also quite food oriented, which could lend to learning tricks well. Speaking of food motivation... I know it is a bad habit, but I will steal food if it is left unattended. So please, some good parenting skills to provide me opportunities for success by not setting me up in such a situation.I do have some small critter prey drive, so no cats, chickens, lizards, rodents, etc... please. And a silly habit I have is nibbling on my blankets, sheets, towels in my crate. Little pieces will show up in my stool. This may be due to the many dogs and changes that have occured with our living situation. It is likely to calm once in a stable, less chaotic environment.Though I have been around kids just fine in the past, I've had no recent interactions. Probably better no smaller kids though, so I won't try stealing food from them. I am house trained, but could use some leash work. I also know how to use a crate, if needed. If you'd be interested in a compatriot to join you in some fun activities and then hang out with you on the couch watching a movie, I'm yer girl. Energy Level: moderate-lowI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: noKids: unknown Fears: a bit of fireworks and thunder/lightning. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: crate trainedLeash skills: a bit. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. HÔLA. My name is ESTRELLA and here is a little info about me:Breed: Basenji/Cattle Dog mixAge: 5 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 50 lbsHeight: 19 inchesCountry of origin: MexicoHighlight(s): friendly, playful, loving, smart, noble I know, "those ears", right? With a wonderful personality, you will enjoy my company. I am very friendly & playful.Rescued pregnant from the streets of Mexico with one of my sisters, we were both pregnant. I have been in rescue for 4 years now. It is time for me to launch out into my own home. My momma, Orinda, was rescued first by the team. She is posted too, I LOVE my ball and to play fetch. If fact, I get super excited about my ball and going to the park. Once home, I am tired out and chill out, happy to hang out on my bed and with my chew toys. I get along with other dogs with proper introduction, of course. I do play a tad rough, like with the other dogs (see video.) I do have a small bit of prey drive, so please no cats, chickens, rodents, etc...I seem to be ok with older kids, but in my exuberance might playfully knock over the wee ones. I will need a bit of work on my leash skills yet, as well as socialization (meeting new dogs and getting out and about.) I am super smart though and a fast learner.I rather do want all the attention to myself and will interject myself between you and another dog getting attention. I will slide just on in between. Heehee. An active household would suit me just right I love to go out on walks & adventures. Maybe I could be your paddleboard partner? Looking forward to our time together. Hoooowdeeeee. I'm Diego and here is some info about me:Breed: Terrier/Catahoula mixAge: 4 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 50 lbsHeight: 23 inchesCountry of origin: MexicoHighlights: Silly, smart, loving, playful, obedient, affectionate Update: I've made it to Vancouver with my sister Morning Glory (aka Nova)!! Ready for my forever home! Both smart and obedient, I bring you a great combo of traits for your future buddy.Life began safely at a shelter in Mexico, after my mama was rescued from the streets while pregnant with my siblings and me. My sis, Morning Glory (aka Nova) is also posted.Being an outdoor enthusiast, my enjoyment would entail daily walks and new adventures. Once done with walking or playjng, I am perfectly content to just lay around the house soaking up the vibes of peace and love.I am very sweet and affectionate and love hugs and kisses. While a bit shy at first, I warm up in no time. I am a funny, easy-going boy who loves to play with other dogs. Not having spent much time around many kids yet, my puppy-like nature suggests I'd probably do just fine with children. Cats, on the other hand... well, they’re a bit scary! Even though dogs aren't 'supposed' to be afraid of them, steering clear is my go-to move whenever we cross paths on walks.Perhaps with a proper, slow introduction, living with one could work out?Recently, when my rescuer saved a kitty, I didn't bother it at all while it sat in its crate on the porch, so there's definitely hope! If you are eager for a co-pilot for your life's enjoyments, I will be right by your side every step of the way.
