Story
Meet Cooper Marie!Cooper Marie is a fun-loving, people-oriented guy who truly shines when she’s with her person. She loves to hang out, be part of the action, and soak up companionship. Her previous owner shared that she’s great with kids, housebroken, crate trained, and will politely whine to let you know when she needs to go outside. This playful pup has lots of energy and enthusiasm for life. She enjoys other dogs—especially dogs her own size or larger—and does well with them. She also knows some basics like “sit” and “lay down,” and rides well in the car (with a little whining at first).Cooper Marie was recently adopted and returned because she was simply too much for the smaller dogs in the home. She plays big and bold, and while she gets along well with larger dogs, his excitement can overwhelm tiny companions. Because of this, Cooper Marie would do best in a home with larger dogs. She may also chase cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. If you’re looking for a confident, playful, loyal companion who loves people, does great with kids, and is already rocking the house manners, Cooper Marie could be your perfect match. Give her the right setup, and she’s ready to be an amazing best friend.

Story
Beast Boy is a joyful bundle of energy who finds excitement in just about everything—whether it’s a treat, a toy, or your attention! He’s a very happy guy who can go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye, and he’s always ready to turn an ordinary moment into a party. This energetic boy thrives on activity and engagement, and he’s especially treat-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. He already knows how to sit, and with his enthusiasm and love for snacks, he’s eager to learn even more! Beast Boy would do best with an active adopter who can keep up with his energy and help him channel it in positive ways.

Story
Updated 3/1/2026: Jackson is a sweet, silly hound mix. He was born in late June 2022 and has reached his full-grown size at about 75 pounds. We do not know his exact breed mix. The adoption fee for Jackson is $200. He has been neutered and microchipped. He's receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Jackson did fantastic with crate training as he recovered from his neuter. He's quite smart and followed another dog through the doggie door right away. He's friendly and picks up on things quickly. Jackson is patiently waiting for a forever family. He was first listed here in November 2022; he's been in the foster program so long that he recently had another annual exam and received his 3-year rabies and distemper/lepto vaccines. Jackson is a playful, adventurous and athletic pup. He'll need some continued work on leash-walking. (He hasn't had much practice and can be a bit of a bowling ball - but he's certainly willing to learn!) His ideal home would have a large, fenced yard (6-foot) so he can sniff, explore and zoom. (He has not been introduced to young children or cats.) He lives with his sister, Sioux, and can be a bit food aggressive towards her. He might do best as an only dog. There's a video of him romping with 3 of his siblings here: https://youtu.be/BoszRFevA7M (He has one sister, Sioux, who is also still available for adoption.) If you want more information about Jackson, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting - and for your patience as we are an all-volunteer rescue! (We do keep our posts current! Sometimes we have to repost a pup when an adoption falls through. Story
This is Kylo, he just turned 7 on March 11th! we rescued him at 4 months old from the humane society after coming from a rough situation. He's an amazing dog with tons of energy! He's great with other dogs, cats and kids. We know he is half Catahoula leopard and are thinking the other half may be some kind of pointer... either way he is definitely a working breed. He is very intelligent and stubborn, he will argue with you if he doesn't want to lay down (we have him lay down when we're eating at the table). we did do a training course with him when we first got him. He has good recall, doesn't run out the door or away. He knows sit, lay, come, paw and crate. He never has accidents inside and will let you know if it's urgent to go out. He really needs a loving family that is active and can fulfill his energy level/needs. A big yard with older kids would do great!!
