Story
Candlelight, the 1st word that comes to mind is friendly. She came to us with 11 puppies who are now weaned and Candlelight is ready for a home of her own. Her favorite thing to do is greet everyone she meets. Candlelight is currently in a foster home where she is enjoying her time! She has a foster dog sibling. Her foster family reports that an adopter should be prepared to feed separately, but that she is very affectionate and playful!

Story
Fragrant was at a Walmart Morton Donation Drive recently for 6 hours and he did so well. He was great with everyone he met especially kids. Here is what the TAPS volunteers who handled him had to say: Good as gold, laid back, loves children, friendly, likes attention, walks well on leash, family pup, well behaved, let me know when had to go potty, loved pets, and cuddler. With this glowing review how can you go wrong? At some point you have to ask yourself is the puppy difficult to photograph or is the photographer challenged? In this case, we had an adorable subject but not so much talent in the other end of the lens. Fragrant is a 4 month old mixed breed male that will be large breed when full sized. Please share his photos and apply at www.tapsshelter.org. Leash Manners: doing well for his age Basic Commands: sit Cat introduction in a controlled environment: good a bit timid with them Good with dogs? doing well in play groups after he watches interaction for a bit. he likes to stalk lay down and pounce when the other dogs run past. Special NotesAdoption Fee: $150Estimated Date of Birth: 11/24/23Intake reason - Transfer InAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. If their kennel card on display at TAPS shelter facility is marked as unaltered, the animal will be altered prior to being released for adoption. Animal stage may change from time to time based on surgery and medical status. TAPS strives to keep kennel cards as up to date as possible with current information but from time to time, information may change and a new kennel card may be pending. Full and current vaccination schedule and medical records along with any behavioral disclosures will be provided at time of adoption.

Story
Meet Copper, a 5-month-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who's ready to bring joy and energy to your home! Weighing in at about 32 pounds, Copper is a bundle of playful spirit and hound dog charm. He's been making great progress with house training and crate training, though he can be quite vocal when first put in his crate—it's his hound nature coming through. After a little while, he calms down and settles in. He's also been using a doggy door to let himself out to go to the bathroom, so accidents are rare. Copper's favorite activities include running around the house or yard with his canine pals, playing fetch, chewing on bones, and playing with toys. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs, cats, and kids. He's friendly, happy, playful, and loyal—all the qualities that make him an ideal family dog. Just be aware that shared walls might not be ideal since he can be vocal at times. His foster mom describes him as the sweetest little hound dog with the cutest floppy ears and puppy dog eyes. Copper loves to curl up next to his people on the couch, and he's always asking for belly rubs. His tail never stops wagging! When he's not snuggling, he's busy playing tug of war with his foster dog siblings or chasing after toys. He's an easygoing puppy who enjoys playing in the yard with kids and other dogs. Copper would fit in well with most families, but his dream home would be with a family that has either a doggy playmate or kids. If you're looking for a fun, energetic, and affectionate companion, Copper might be the perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
