Story
If you are looking for a pup with a heart of pure gold and a sweetness that will instantly melt you, Elmer is your boy. One of the "tree" puppies, Elmer has marched to the beat of his own drum from day one. He’s the late bloomer of the litter, taking things a little slower than his siblings. Because of his adorable, unique skull shape as a baby and his unhurried timeline for hitting milestones, it was once thought he might have a mild case of hydrocephalus. It’s never been officially diagnosed (which would require an MRI), and thankfully, he doesn't suffer from any health issues otherwise! We affectionately consider him our "special needs" sweet boy, but honestly, we just love to love on him.
Elmer is the ultimate cuddler—he literally melts right into your arms when you hold him. When it comes to playtime, he gets along wonderfully with other dogs, though because he is very submissive and easily bullied by more dominant personalities, he will thrive best with a specific kind of companion. Elmer is looking for a home with another dog who has natural maternal instincts—someone who can act as his built-in security blanket and guide.
We are completely and utterly smitten with our boy Elmer. To ensure he continues to live his best life, his ideal forever home will feature a securely fenced yard, an experienced adopter with a verifiable vetting history, and a deep commitment to cherishing him just as much as we do. Are you ready to fall in love?
The Tree Pups: Born into a world of early hardships and uncertainty, this incredible litter started their lives fighting against the odds alongside their fiercely resilient mama, Sequoia. Thanks to a lot of love, specialized care, and second chances, these seven little saplings have blossomed into an extraordinary group of happy, healthy, and confident pups. From brave leaders and adventurous explorers to calm, steady protectors and gentle cuddle bugs, every single one of them carries an unbreakable spirit and a heart full of love, ready to put down deep roots in their forever homes.
Elmer is a male Catahoula Leopard Dog/Retriever mix who was was born approximately 7-2-26. He is neutered, age-appropriate vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and started on preventative. Adoption fee is $575 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
