Story
Handsome Bambino came to us as a stray in mid 2023. He`s a happy boy (especially when a pool is involved!). Volunteer notes, 6/17/24:I love Bambino so, so much and have written about him several times, because he is always showing me something new. He is a multifaceted dog! Today we combined his two favorite things--tennis balls and a wading pool--and I am pretty sure he was the happiest dog on earth. You can never have too many tennis balls in your hands at once, and if you throw them into the water in rapid succession it will bring the deepest joy to this smart and energetic doggie as he fetches and drops them as fast as he can. He can catch a tennis ball in his mouth with perfect precision. He could probably outperform most of the Dock Dogs with a little encouragement!Volunteer notes, 5/2/24:I have played with Bambino several times now and my conclusion is that his behavior is very consistent, and he warms up steadily over time. Each time I have played with him we`ve understood each other better. He is a good communicator, and if you listen to his cues, and let him chew on his toys when he wants to, he is the friendliest and gentlest boy you can imagine. The only time he ever growled at me was when I tried to take something from him before he was ready. He used his words; what more can you ask for?! He is smart and I believe he could learn to share his toys more readily with some consistent, positive, patient training. He has the sweetest floppy ears and cutest little cow spots on his back, along with a lovely speckled coat. He will be a great active companion for the lucky person who respects his things and earns his trust! I see the potential for great loyalty from this dog!Dog Day Out notes, 4/19/24:Bambino went on a hike at the beautiful Cates Farm Park in Mebane. He`s one smart and friendly boy. He pulled on the leash at first and would get excitable in the car, around other dogs, and when other people passed. But he is easily corrected with some instruction on the leash. He`s very

Story
We are a very lucky litter of puppies! We were born to our mom in AARF foster care and were able to stay with her until we were weaned. Our mom is a very sweet Catahoula mix of about 60 pounds and she should be ready to find her new home soon! We have been well-loved, and are enjoying time with our foster families. We are about 8 weeks old so are just getting started on basic training. We would love to have you come meet us and see if we can win your heart! Hank is very nearly potty trained, he just needs someone to keep a close eye on him for his potty cues because he has a tiny bladder! He is crate trained and can sleep quietly in his crate all night! Hank lovessssss to eat and enjoys a little water mixed in his food, he likes a good dog food soup! He is the sweetest smartest little guy! He's good with other dogs, cats and children. He also has enjoyed riding around in a pouch while his big foster brother gets walked, though he will soon outgrow this lazy luxury. Hank is worthy of a forever home where he is deeply loved and cherished. He'd make a great first dog or an additional dog to be a best friend to your current dog(s) or cat(s). Come meet our adoptable dogs on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm in the backyard at AARF's new location- 302 Thurston St, W-S. Go to AARFWS.org to view and apply for our AARF dogs. Information about the process is available on our website. Remember that we do not adopt more than a 45-minute radius from our facility in Winston Salem.

She LOVES to eat, snorting herr way through a meal (hence her nickname - "Piggy"). She has been great with the foster family's kids, cat, and senior dog.
