Story
Friendly adult Coonhound, estimated 2 years old. Millie was found as a stray and she is thin at 45 pounds. Millie is looking for a family where she can run, either on a leash or on a large property. Millie doesn't have a lot of manners and being in the shelter is hard on a dog that has been bred to run, and sniff and run some more. Our dog walkers tell us once she gets her initial burst of energy out, Millie walks great on a leash; calm, slack lead, right at the human's side keeping up with their pace. If you know the breed and are prepared for the level of activity, we would love for you to come in and meet her. Millie is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and her adoption fee includes a voucher for the spay.

Story
Roscoe is a 9 yr old, 11 lb, tri-colored Beagle/Dachshund mix. He gets along beautifully with other small dogs and enjoys playing with plush toys. Roscoe has the gentle temperament of a Beagle along with some Dachshund traits — he is curious, lively, charming, brave, stubborn, demands to be in on everything, and believes snuggling and sleeping under the bedcovers is in his bill of rights. Roscoe is friendly and affectionate with people. Roscoe could be an only dog or have another small dog (under 20 lbs) in the home. Roscoe is smart, quick and looks for every opportunity to shoot out an open door, so his adoptive family needs to be prepared to manage a quick and determined little dog. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1 1/2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $450July 24, 2024, 4:40 am

Story
Hello, My name is Cooper and I was adopted from a shelter at the end of May. I currently have 2 fur sisters (a dog & a young cat), I get along with both really well. I also have a human brother & sister (ages 1 & 3) that I am so very patient with. I'm am a gentle soul, even amidst this youthful chaos. The reason I am looking for a new home is due to my human mom feeling very overwhelmed. She is a single mom and wanted to rescue me from the shelter but quickly learned it was more than she could handle. I'm not upset with her, she did rescue me and has assured me that someone out there will love me and give me my retirement home. I do have a bit of separation anxiety, but do well in a kennel while mom is at work. I'm still learning to potty outside, I've gotten much better since I was adopted and mom is continuing to work with me. I'm a timid boy, but love head pats and back scratches. I love bones and I love to go on walks and smell all the things. Would you like to meet me?
