Meet Merlina Safe in Foster Care and Blossoming—Now Merlina Is Ready for a Forever Home of Her Own ❤️ Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog / Terrier Mix Gender: Female | Age: Approximately 2 Years | Weight/Size: 35 lbs (Medium) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats: Unknown | Kids ✔️ Medical: Spay Status: Fixed | Vaccination Status: Current | Microchip Status: Not Provided Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Merlina's Story Merlina's journey has already taken an important turn for the better. After being found without a permanent home, Merlina was fortunate enough to be welcomed into a loving foster home. Instead of having to wait in a rescue environment, she has been able to experience the comfort and stability of living with a family while she waits for the one thing she still needs—a forever home of her own. Life in foster care has given Merlina the opportunity to show everyone what a wonderful dog she truly is. Merlina is outgoing, loving, and incredibly friendly. She enjoys meeting people and has an open, social personality that makes her easy to connect with. She's the kind of dog who wants to be involved in what's happening around her, whether that's heading out for a walk, spending time outside, playing, or simply relaxing with her people. At approximately two years old, Merlina is at a fantastic age. She has moved beyond the earliest puppy stage while still being young, active, and ready for plenty of adventures. At 35 pounds, she's also a manageable medium size that can fit comfortably into many different lifestyles. Her time in foster care has helped prepare her for family life, but moving into a permanent home will still be a transition. Merlina needs someone willing to give her the patience and consistency every rescue dog deserves while she learns that this time, she's truly home. As a Catahoula Leopard Dog / Terrier Mix, Merlina may have many of the intelligent, energetic, and loyal qualities associated with these breeds. Catahoula's are known for being bright, athletic dogs that form strong bonds with their families, while Terriers often bring confidence, curiosity, and a fun-loving personality. Merlina will benefit from a home that provides both physical activity and opportunities to keep her mind engaged. Merlina would thrive with a family that offers: Plenty of love and companionship Daily walks and regular exercise Positive reinforcement training Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization Consistent household routines and boundaries Plenty of opportunities to be included in family activities A safe indoor home where she's treated as a cherished member of the family A lifelong commitment Merlina's foster home gave her a safe place to land. Now she's ready for the family who will give her a permanent place to belong. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Living in foster care gives Merlina valuable experience in a home environment, but adopters should remember that every new home brings different people, routines, sounds, expectations, and surroundings. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling comfortable 3 Weeks to understand her new household routine 3 Months to settle in, build trust, and truly feel at home Her future family should be prepared to continue working on any household manners, leash skills, boundaries, or other training she may need. Merlina's intelligence and outgoing personality can make positive reinforcement training a wonderful way to build a relationship with her. Consistency, praise, treats, games, and clear expectations will help her understand what her new family wants from her. She will benefit from: Continued positive reinforcement training Daily walks and physical activity Interactive games and enrichment Consistent routines Continued positive socialization Plenty of family interaction Patience during her transition from foster care With structure, affection, and time to adjust, Merlina has everything she needs to become a wonderful lifelong companion. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Adopting Merlina means making a commitment to care for her throughout every stage of her life. Her future family should be prepared to provide: Routine veterinary wellness examinations Vaccinations as recommended by a veterinarian Flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention Routine dental care A nutritious, balanced diet Healthy weight management Daily physical exercise Mental stimulation and enrichment Continued training and socialization Veterinary treatment whenever illness or injury occurs A safe, comfortable indoor home We recommend establishing care with a veterinarian shortly after adoption so Merlina can have an ongoing wellness plan tailored to her individual needs. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Merlina, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to giving deserving dogs another chance at safe, loving, permanent homes. Although we are based in Los Angeles, California, we proudly coordinate safe and reliable transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Merlina has already found a safe place to stay, but a foster home was never meant to be the end of her story. This outgoing, loving girl is ready for something permanent—a family to adventure with, a home to settle into, and people she can finally call her own. ❤️August 18, 2026, 11:28 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Plankton & Veyra!  If you’re looking for one puppy, one of these cuties could  Plankton (male) and Veyra (female) are 5-month-old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Australian Shepherd mixes, and these two are already little TANKS. We expect them to be on the bigger side, around 50–90 pounds full grown, so their future families better start preparing their laps now.   Plankton has more of a white face and is our laid-back, people-obsessed dude. His ideal day consists of being as close to his humans as physically possible, giving kisses, and attempting to climb into your lap despite the fact that he is rapidly outgrowing it.  He rarely strays far from his people unless Veyra decides it’s time to wrestle, because apparently sibling WWE is a very important part of his daily schedule.  Veyra has the tiny white stripe and is our little explorer. This girl follows her nose EVERYWHERE and wants to investigate absolutely everything. She loves playing in the water and is VERY interested in fetch.  But she also has a serious case of FOMO. The second she sees someone else getting attention, she comes running back like, “WAIT. I heard there were pets happening over here.”  Both puppies are kennel trained, know how to use the dog door, and are doing AMAZING with potty training. They’re still working hard on their leash skills, but they’re young and learning more every day! • They seem to be okay with cats. Veyra is definitely the more curious one and would probably like to conduct a full investigation of any resident feline. These two are goofy, affectionate, playful puppies who love their people and are going to make some very lucky families incredibly happy. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi everyone!! My name is Dollipand I’m a 5 month old Catahoula mix looking for my forever family!  I’m currently 18 pounds, but the puppy calculator says I may grow to around 40 pounds (although those calculators aren’t always right ).   First things first… have you seen my BLUE EYES?!  I’m pretty sure they’re impossible to resist! I’m a total cuddle bug and absolutely LOVE being close to my humans. Belly rubs, you say?! YES PLEASE!!  I also love toys and, of course, anything I can chew on.  I’m almost completely potty trained and do amazing when I’m on a schedule! I’ll be honest though. I’m not a huge fan of the kennel. Why would I want to be in there when I could be cuddled up next to my favorite person?!  I get along with other dogs and love playing with them once I’ve had a little time to warm up. I will admit, though, I’m not a huge fan of sharing my human’s attention. What can I say… all eyes should be on me!  I’m just a sweet, silly puppy looking for someone who will love me, cuddle me, teach me, and let me be their little shadow. Could that be you?  Apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2026, 4:39 pm

Story
Reva is the sweetest dog in search of her best friend.   Her previous life was a bit rough so she is looking for a soft landing.  Her ideal home would be with someone who is home most of the time.  She would be happy to have dog siblings but is also good on her own.   Reva has been good with other dogs and older children.  She will likely chase cats.  Reva loves everyone she meets, but can be a bit timid around men until she gets to know them.  Reva is athletic and would love to have an adventurous family.   She gets anxious when left alone so she would do best in a home with someone home most of the time or have a very secure kennel.  Reva is fully house trained as far as using the bathroom.  She is still learning not to chew things up when she is nervous.  Reva loves to please her person, but anxiety does get the best of her from time to time.  Reva is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and is mirco-chipped.  If you are ready to add a fun athletic dog to your home, contact us today.

Story
💔 Looking for the perfect home for Pepper 💔 This is by far one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to make. After a lot of tears and trying everything we can, we’ve made the heartbreaking decision to find a new home for Pepper. Our kids’ allergies have continued to get worse, and keeping him separated downstairs isn’t fair to him. He deserves so much more than that. We adopted Pepper about 2 years ago, and he has been such a special part of our family ever since. He is a big Australian Shepherd mix with an even bigger heart. He is incredibly sweet, loving, loyal, and just wants to be with his people. 🐾 Australian Shepherd mix 🐾 Not neutered 🐾 Large dog 🐾 Very affectionate
