Story
Gracie is utterly the most stunning exquisite dapple color, softest long hair, 7 year 30 pound petite Catahoula / Collie mix. She was very reserved and skittish when she first got to her foster home, but with lots of patience she is opening up every day and catching on to the routine. Her foster family has not heard her bark a peep. She can scale lower baby gates in the snap of a finger so she absolutely requires a 6 foot tall fenced in back yard. She cannot go to a home with kids under 15 because if the door was opened and she was not secure she most certainly would dart out the door. Gracie gets along wonderfully with all the dogs in her foster home, big and small, male and female. She does need to go to a home with at least one other dog, they constantly cuddle with heads on each other, arms around each other and groom each other. She is affectionate with her 2 legged people but absolutely adores her 4 legged friends. At times she is very feminine and reserved, but other times not very lady like at all, she sleeps on her back with legs spread eagle. She is totally house and crate trained. Given the opportunity Gracie will put her front paws on a counter or help herself to unattended people food, oh and she likes to have a sip or two of coffee left on the end table, she is just a little busy body, but in the cutest form of busy. She needs to be fed separate or watched as she devours her food super fast and will help the other 4 legged doggies empty their bowls if they have not ate as fast as she has. By no means is she food aggressive though. They all drink water at the same time from the same bowl. She will chew up papers if left unattended so she needs to be given her own toys to chew on. Gracie will make the most wonderful addition to her furever home, she just needs to be given the utmost respect and time to feel secure and safe and catch on to the routine of her new home.Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Gracie's adoption fee is $200. Story
Cookie is an absolute sweetheart who is very friendly and loves everyone! She is likely some sort of shepherd mix and just about a year and a half old. She is young and playful, always happy and gets along very well with other dogs. She loves playing fetch and playing with stuffed animals. During the day, you will find her hanging out in the backyard, playing with her furry friends, or taking a peaceful nap on the patio without reacting to passersby or other distractions. She is also a great adventure buddy who loves being outdoors and going on hikes! She walks great on a leash and rides well in the car. She is treat-motivated and knows how to sit! When it's relaxation time, she will snuggle with you on the couch and just enjoy getting some affection. Cookie's fur is so soft, and you will love snuggling with her too! She is house-trained, and fantastic in her kennel and she can stay calm and quiet for a long period of time without a peep! Cookie is an amazing dog who has a lot of love to give. Don't miss this chance to make Cookie a part of your family!Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
My name is Olivia and I am a beautiful Aussie x Catahoula mix dog. I am what is known as a double merle-- The genetic mutation is what give me my beautiful blue eyes and pretty white coat. Unfortunately it also causes deafness. But, please don't let my hearing impairment prevent you from adopting me. It doesn't prevent me from doing anything. I love to get out and about on walks and hikes, sniffing is my hobby. I'm a smart girl and learn quickly. My foster mom is working on teaching me sign language. I have already mastered "sit" and "come". I like other dogs; but, I need a slow introduction. Dogs that come on too strong scare me. My foster mom says that I am the sweetest little-big girl that she has ever met. I haven't met a cat, so we are sure how I would do. I would love a calm and mellow house with no small (young) children. I am house broken and crate trained, I walk well on a leash with a harness, I am spayed and up to date on my vaccinations. If you would like to meet me email kathie@herdinghaven.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ruff (hello)! My name is Mags McGee and I am ready for my new home! I am a sweet, shy little lady. I’m listed as a catahoula mix, but I think what I really am is a fox mixed with the cutest freckles you’ve ever seen. Is that a breed? I am 1 year old and weigh in at just 35lbs! I'm full grown at this (perfect) size. I mentioned being shy. It’s true – it will take me a minute to warm up, but I am a fan of humans for sure! I like to follow my foster mom around and keep an eye on her. I am eager to please – even if I’m not outgoing about it! I am crate trained, house broken and love going for walks! My foster siblings have been so nice to be around, and they’ve definitely helped me be a happy little doggie. I love taking group walks with them. I do like to chase cats, squirrels and grasshoppers (I love the way they bounce right out of the ground!) so a home without cats/ farm animals would be best for me. My foster mom says the most rewarding part of her foster job is to see us timid kids come out of our shells and to grow with our humans. She is so proud of me, and can’t wait to see me blossom with my forever people! Now we just need to find them! If you are looking for a mellow new best friend, who loves going for walks and wants to get out and explore, please apply at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 1, 2023, 11:38 pm
