Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Adrian #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Adrian | 6-month-old German Shepherd Mix | A curious, energetic explorer Adrian is a sweet, intelligent, and high-energy puppy with a big personality and an infectious zest for life. At just six months old, he’s still learning the ropes, but his curiosity and eagerness to engage with the world make him a joy to be around. He’s almost fully housetrained, knows that going outside means potty time, and is learning to signal by standing at the door or whining. He does well being crated for several hours at a time and typically settles after a short period of initial whining, making good progress for a pup his age. Adrian absolutely loves toys, chew bones, fetch, food enrichment puzzles, and exploring the outdoors. Walks are one of his favorite activities, though he is currently working through some leash reactivity to people, dogs, and wheeled objects. He can also get jumpy and excited, both inside the house and on walks, but he responds extremely well to positive reinforcement and is already learning commands like “leave it,” “down,” and “stop.” With consistency and continued training, he has all the tools to mature into a well-mannered companion. Affectionate and playful, Adrian enjoys cuddling once his exercise needs are met and often shows his love by resting his head on you, offering a paw, or rolling over for belly rubs. He does well with other dogs, particularly larger, calm, submissive females, and would thrive in an active home with plenty of space and someone who enjoys hiking, running, or other outdoor adventures. Adrian is best suited for an adopter who understands puppy energy, is committed to ongoing training, and can provide the structure, patience, and activity he needs to truly flourish.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs.   For more information, contact 978-319-3244 or ryan.d.jallad@gmail.com.   Oaky is a 8 year old neutered GSD. He’s a very obedient, friendly, and energetic dog who unfortunately needs to be an only dog as he does not get along well with canine roommates. He’s good with cats and people and would do great as an only dog with active parents!    May 29, 2025, 8:42 pm
