Story
If there ever was a dog who needed human kindness and love, it is Ziggy. Ten-year-old Ziggy, a Poodle/Bichon mix, has spent much of his life being overlooked and neglected. When no other rescue was willing to step forward, CACC opened its doors, and its heart, to this deserving little dog. Years of neglect took a devastating toll. Ziggy lost his vision, most of his teeth, and faced several other medical challenges. Yet somehow, the hardships he endured never dimmed his sweet spirit. He still greets each day with trust, a wagging tail, and a heart full of love. After everything he has been through, Ziggy still chooses joy. He is a beautiful reminder of the resilience of dogs. Despite the difficult life he has known, Ziggy remains a gentle, affectionate soul who enjoys the company of people, other dogs, and likely even cats. He can be silly, playful, and even mischievous at times. Most of all, he loves being close to his people and sharing the simple happiness of everyday life. Ziggy adores curling up in a warm lap and is happiest when he";s simply included in whatever you're doing. He has learned to navigate the world without sight and adapts remarkably well to new environments. Once he learns the layout of a home, he moves around with surprising confidence, happily trotting toward the sound of a familiar voice. Blindness doesn"t define Ziggy; it is simply one small part of who he is. Fully potty trained, Ziggy sleeps soundly through the night in his x-pen without needing a potty break. Even more amazing, he is a very low-maintenance companion who requires only minimal accommodations for his blindness. His future family will simply need to help him gradually explore the outdoors and, most importantly, shower him with the love and affection he has gone without for far too long. These days, Ziggy finds joy in life's simplest pleasures: a tasty treat, a gentle cuddle, sniffing around the yard, or stretching out for a nap in a sunny spot. He doesn't need grand adventures or endless activity. What he longs for is a safe home, a soft bed, and someone whose voice he can learn by heart. For most of his life, Ziggy has known what it feels like to be unwanted. We want his next chapter to be different. We want him to know what it means to be cherished, protected, and deeply loved. What Ziggy wants most now is simple: comfort, companionship, and a family to call his own. In return, he offers the kind of devotion that only a grateful old soul can give. Though he cannot see the people who love him, he feels their kindness completely. If you have room in your heart for this extraordinary little dog, please let us know. Opening your home to Ziggy may be one of the most meaningful acts of kindness you'll ever make, and one of the most rewarding. Some dogs leave paw prints on your floor. Dogs like Ziggy leave paw prints on your heart forever.

Story
We love twotwo sooo much. We need to rehome due to taking care of ailing parents out of country for an indeterminate extended stay. So far we have had her stay with friends when we travel or have someone housesit Her gotcha day was 2/22/22. She was born some time in November 2021 and we adopted her as a puppy. She is a mix of a shi tzu and cavalier. Within a few weeks in our family she was bit on her face. She healed quickly with minor dental with snagletooth smile. Since then she is super scared of other dogs and became more protective of myself and husband. She is trained. She will sit and do some commands. Completely house broken. He commands are sit, heel, leave it and free. She is great with people once she warms up. She can be left alone after walks and during work day without accidents Rarely ever sheds even when hair is kept long. Does get motion sick in the car. We give her otc medication when we go out roadtrips recommended by vet and works well.

Story
*Note: Currently, Noonoo is in Korea, but she will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption applicaiton, please click her.BackgroundNoonoo was rescued just in time after being reported as a stray and placed on the euthanasia list at a municipal shelter. She was given a second chance and is now living in a foster home with a single woman in an apartment. She has settled into home life beautifully and is ready to find a loving family of her own.Personality and SocializationShe is a gentle, affectionate, and easygoing dog who loves being around people. She enjoys attention and will happily come over for pets and affection whenever someone is nearby. She is friendly with people of all ages, including children, and is equally comfortable with both men and women. She also gets along well with other dogs and lived peacefully with many dogs at the shelter. When out for walks, she shows little interest in cats and simply continues on her way.BehavioursNoonoo is a relaxed companion who adapts well to daily routines. She is currently working on being left alone. Like many dogs who have experienced abandonment, she initially found it difficult when her person left the house and would cry. With patient training, she has made wonderful progress. Her confidence continues to improve, and with consistency from her future family, she is expected to keep making progress.Noonoo has a calm nature and enjoys leisurely walks rather than fast paced adventures. She is currently taken outside for frequent short walks and she loves it. She is also able to use pee pads indoors when needed. Noonoo travels very well in the car and often relaxes or sleeps during rides. Bath time is also something she accepts without any fuss.Health and DietNoonoo is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on her vaccinations. She also receives monthly parasite prevention. She has early stage degenerative mitral valve disease (Stage B1). At this stage, medication is not required. This is a common age related condition in small dogs. Many dogs live the rest of their lives without ever needing surgery, while others gradually progress to Stage B2 as they age. Regular veterinary checkups are recommended to monitor her heart health.Noonoo eats regular dry food and does not appear to be overly food motivated. She has not shown any sings of allergies.Ideal HomeNoonoo would thrive in a home with someone who works from home or is retired and can spend plenty of time with her would be ideal. She would be happy with a single person, a couple, or a family with respectful children. She could also live with another friendly dog, although she would be equally content as the only dog receiving all the love and attention. She is a sweet, calm, and loving companion who simply wants to be close to her people. After losing her home once, she deserves a family that will cherish her forever. With a little continued guidance and lots of love, she will reward her family with endless affection and loyal companionship.*Note: Currently, Noonoo is in Korea, but she will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption applicaiton, please click her.
