Story
I adopted Buddy 8 years ago from PetSmart. He is a sweet dog and is well mannered. He loves to play and is friendly. He is good with small dogs but not as good with bigger dogs. He is good with children but has not been around cats. I am 90 years old and I need to move back to Austin. I am not able to take him out as much and he has begun to pee in the house. If he had someone that is more consistent in taking him out, he would be better as he is house trained. Since Buddy is 15 years old, the trip to Austin as well as the heat in Texas would be very difficult on him. He is well loved and I want to make sure he is well cared by a foster or a forever home. I would not be giving him up if i was not moving. He was my best buddy.

Meet Charlie Nine Years Young and Still Ready for Adventure—Charlie Is Looking for His Forever Home ❤️ Breed: Poodle Mix Gender: Male | Age: 8/12/2017 | Weight/Size: 12 lbs (Small) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats unknown | Kids ✔️ | Very Friendly with Everyone Medical: Vaccination Status: Not Provided | Neuter Status: Not Provided | Microchip Status: Not Provided Special Home Requirement: Charlie needs a home with a secure yard Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue provides safe transportation to approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Charlie's Story Charlie may be nine years old, but don't tell him he's supposed to be a senior! This happy little guy is active, outgoing, and full of life, with plenty of adventures still ahead of him. Charlie came to rescue after being surrendered by his previous owner. After spending years knowing the comfort of a home, suddenly having his life change was understandably a major transition. Through no fault of his own, Charlie now finds himself searching for a new family at a time in his life when he deserves stability more than ever. Fortunately, Charlie hasn't let this change his wonderful outlook on life. He is an exceptionally friendly, social, and affectionate dog who enjoys meeting just about everyone. Charlie loves attention and companionship and is happiest when he's included in whatever his people are doing. He has the confidence of a mature dog but still has an energetic, playful side that keeps life interesting. Charlie especially enjoys being outside, exploring, playing, and having room to move around. A secure yard is important for Charlie's future home, giving this active little guy a safe place to enjoy the outdoors in addition to his regular walks and family activities. At the end of an active day, Charlie is just as happy settling down with his people and enjoying some affection. He offers a wonderful balance for someone who wants a smaller dog but isn't necessarily looking for a couch potato. As a Poodle Mix, Charlie is intelligent, people-oriented, and eager to interact with his family. Poodles are known for being exceptionally smart and trainable dogs that enjoy both physical activity and mental stimulation. Even as an older adult, Charlie will benefit from opportunities to explore, learn, and stay engaged. Charlie would thrive with a family that can provide: A securely fenced yard Daily walks and regular outdoor time Plenty of companionship and affection Interactive toys and mental enrichment Positive reinforcement training A predictable daily routine Regular grooming and coat maintenance A safe indoor home where he's part of the family A lifelong commitment through his senior years Charlie has already lost one home. What he needs now isn't a temporary place to stay—he needs a family ready to make sure his next home is truly forever. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Charlie has the advantage of being a mature adult dog, but moving into a new home is still a significant adjustment. Even dogs who have previously lived with families need time to understand their new surroundings, routines, and expectations. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand his new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in and feel that he's truly home At nine years old, Charlie is still active and should continue receiving regular physical and mental stimulation. A yard will give him a wonderful place to explore and enjoy himself, but it shouldn't replace walks and activities with his family. Charlie will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily walks and outdoor exploration Consistent household routines Interactive toys and enrichment Plenty of family interaction Patience as he adjusts to his new home With stability and affection, Charlie should have no trouble showing his new family just how much love this little guy still has to give. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care At nine years old, Charlie is entering his senior years, making consistent preventative veterinary care especially important. His adopter should be prepared to provide: Regular veterinary wellness examinations Senior bloodwork and health screenings as recommended by his veterinarian Routine vaccinations Flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention Routine dental examinations and dental care A nutritious diet appropriate for his age and activity level Daily exercise to help maintain mobility and a healthy weight Regular professional grooming and at-home coat maintenance Mental stimulation and enrichment Veterinary care whenever illness or injury occurs A safe, comfortable indoor home Poodle mixes require regular grooming to prevent uncomfortable matting. His future family should be prepared for brushing at home and professional grooming approximately every 6–8 weeks, depending on his coat. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Charlie, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to giving deserving dogs a second chance at loving homes. Every application is carefully reviewed to help ensure the best possible match between each dog and their future family. Although we are based in Los Angeles, California, we proudly coordinate safe and reliable transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Charlie isn't looking to slow down—he's looking for someone to enjoy life with. After losing the home he knew, this friendly little guy deserves to spend his next chapter exploring his own yard, going on adventures, and coming home every night knowing that this time, he's home for good. ❤️August 20, 2026, 3:00 pm

Story
Sweet baby 9 year old Hart is looking for a new home to spend the last few years of his life. Hart is a pit-mix that I adopted from a shelter in Kentucky in early 2018. He is lively, friendly, curious and handsome. Good things: Hart loves meeting new people and loves snuggling. Downsides: He has a short bite history from 2018. No incidents since then. Needs: Someone who is WFH or is able to be home with him occasionally during the day. Reason for rehoming: Ever since I've owned Hart, I've been able to work from home / hybrid, or had a roommate. In the past year, I've transitioned to living alone plus having an office job that keeps me away from home for long periods of time. When I'm gone for the day, I'm not able to give Hart the care he needs. Deciding to rehome him has been one of the hardest decisions of my life, but I know it's the best choice for both of us.
