Meet Hugo!Hugo is a gentle and affectionate 10-year-old sweetheart who is ready to spend his golden years in a home of his own. This calm, easygoing boy is wonderfully non-reactive and would much rather be by your side than anywhere else. He’s the perfect little shadow and will happily follow his person wherever they go.Hugo is also a very good communicator—he only barks when he needs to go outside! He does not like being in a crate and becomes very stressed when confined, so he’ll need a home where a crate isn’t necessary.Hugo is blind in his left eye, but don’t let that fool you—it doesn’t slow this boy down one bit!All Hugo really needs is a loving person and a quiet place to hang his hat for his golden years. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet senior companion, Hugo is waiting for you.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
We found Ellie in early November in rural Louisiana & she had clearly been fending for herself for quite some time. She was emaciated, tick-covered, & living off whatever scraps she could find in the woods. Since then, she has blossomed into a healthy 50-lb bundle of pure sweetness. She is extremely affectionate and people-oriented. She is crate trained and housebroken. She walks well on a leash and knows basic commands. Her favorite toy is her large Kong (which she throws & chases herself), & will chew for hours on a large beef bone. She does show some fear responses to loud noises & sudden movements, but that has decreased over time. To make her transition as smooth as possible, her adoption includes a large crate & crate pad, large dog bed, harness, & leash. She would thrive as either a single pet or in a home with other friendly dogs around her size. Unfortunately, our smaller dog doesn't want to share her space which is the only reason why we are trying to find her a new home.

Story
Georgia is a 4.5 year old rescue who's been with us since she was 2 months old. She's goofy, playful, affectionate, and loves her people. She loves swimming, chasing laser pointers, and butt scratches! She is house and crate trained, well behaved at home, and happy to relax when her people are away. She can be anxious during big transitions and will need patience adjusting to a new home. Once she trusts you, she’s incredibly loving and snuggly. Georgia CANNOT live with female dogs. She has had serious fights with females in the home that caused significant injuries. She does wonderfully with male dogs that are her size or larger, or as an only dog. We recommend no young children as she can get overwhelmed and may give a warning nip if frightened. She has never bitten anyone. We’re expecting a baby and can no longer safely manage the conflicts with our other female dog. This is heartbreaking as we love her dearly and want her to find the loving home she deserves!
