Story
Hi, my forever family! My name is Sugar, and I’m a sweet 6-month-old Maltipoo mix boy. I got the best of both my mom and dad—I have their soft, fluffy coats and adorable looks mixed together! 🤍 I’m still just a baby, so I have lots of curiosity, playfulness, and energy. There are so many things in the world that I want to discover, and I would love a family who will be patient with me while I learn and grow. One of my biggest loves in life is… FOOD! 🍎🥕 I’m a very good eater, and I especially love fruits and vegetables. If I hear someone cutting something in the kitchen, I’ll come running and sit nearby to see if there might be a tasty treat waiting for me. Because I’m so food-motivated, I think I could be a great student when you use treats and positive reinforcement to teach me new things! I’m very affectionate with my family and love being around the people I know. Since I’m still young and haven’t had many opportunities to meet different people, I can be a little nervous around strangers. When someone new comes into the house, I may bark or run away because I’m not sure about them yet. But I believe that with gentle introductions and lots of positive experiences, I can learn that new people can be safe and wonderful too. 🤍 I’m also slowly learning to enjoy walks! I’m still getting used to wearing a leash and harness, so I’ll need some practice before I feel completely comfortable. When I see other dogs, I’m usually curious and interested in them. I’d love to keep exploring the world at my own pace with a family who can help me build confidence. Because I’m still going through my puppy teething stage, I sometimes think human hands are toys and like to nibble on them during play. 🐶 I’m still learning what is appropriate to chew, so I’ll need patient guidance and consistent training. I absolutely love tug toys and playing fetch with a ball, so I’d much rather learn to put all my puppy energy into fun toys and games! 🎾 I’m also doing really well with potty training! I currently have excellent indoor potty habits and use the bathroom indoors reliably. I usually poop outside when I go for walks, but I still prefer to pee indoors. Of course, when I first arrive at my new home, I may have an accident or two while I adjust to a completely new environment and routine. I just need some time to feel safe and settled, and I should be able to maintain the good habits I’ve already learned. I’m a little sensitive when it comes to bath time, and I haven’t always been a big fan of baths. 🛁 But I’m still learning! With patience, treats, praise, and gentle encouragement, I can slowly learn that new experiences aren’t something to be afraid of. I’m only 6 months old, which means I still have so much to learn. I’ll need plenty of playtime, exercise, training, and guidance as I grow up. But I’m affectionate, curious, food-motivated, and eager to have fun—and with positive training and a patient family, I believe I can grow into a wonderful companion. I may still be a little clumsy and unsure about some things, but that’s because I’m just a puppy. I hope my forever family will be willing to be patient with my little mistakes, teach me kindly, play with me, and grow alongside me. 🤍 All I’m looking for is a family who will show me that the world is a safe and happy place. In return, I promise to fill your home with puppy kisses, playful moments, funny little habits, and so many memories.
