Story
Meet RebelRebel is a 6 yr old 18 lb female King Charles Cavalier looking for her first ever home.Rebel spent 6 very neglectful years in a cage as a backyard breeder right here in Wisconsin and because of that, she has some specific needs in her forever home. She is great with other dogs her size and will benefit greatly from another gentle dog in her new home.A fully fenced yard is ideal for her safety.Rebel is shy and timid but with patience, understanding, kindness and gentle hands, she will bloom like a flower right before your eyes. She's very sweet and albeit scary at first, she craves and desires attention. Her favorite place in her foster home is on the couch where she gathers 'her babies' (stuffed toys) and strategically places them safely next to her on the couch to snooze the day away.Older, respectful children would be best for her as they are usually less scary than the younger ones. She is doing well going to the bathroom on potty pads and is learning to potty outside, but will need guidance and structure to continue her potty skills outdoors. She has never met cats, but due to her nature, it doesn't appear they would bother her.If you would like to add this sweet little girl to your family and are committed to giving her the life she has waited her whole life for, we encourage you to fill out an application and once approved, be connected to her foster parents. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, bloodwork complete, microchipped and has had a dental. She is fostered in Delavan WI and her adoption fee is $350.SpayedMicrochippedPee pad trained/ working on outside pottyUTD on vaccinationsUTD on preventativesAlbert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Story
Rhoadie is a beautiful 3 year old 23 lb King Charles Cavalier and she's a retired breeder. Sadly, she spent her life in a cage so she could be used for breeding to have as many puppies as possible so someone could make a lot of money. She was born with something they call a "small eye" also known as microphthalmia which doesn't hurt at all, and she is blind in that eye. Her other eye is normal. She doesn't know any different and she is a completely normal, perfect girl. Now that she's free to be, she's taking on the world fearlessly and with such optimism. She is active, fun, sunshiny, a fast learner and oh so loving. She just wants to be wherever her people are.And in true Cavalier fashion, her tail goes nonstop and has that famous wiggle butt all day long. You'll be happy to know, you will never have to go to the bathroom alone ever again. She is on the lookout for her forever family who will show her a life she always deserved. Maybe someone who likes to go for walks, but also likes to chill on the couch. Someone who will tell her pretty girl and fill her heart with love. She is not yet housetrained, but she's well on her way and will use a potty pad. She's really kind of a simple gal with a big beautiful heart. In her new home, a fenced yard would be ideal so she can safely run and zoom around without restrictions and most importantly, so she will always feel free. She is great with other dogs her size, but cats are unknown. Older respectful kids would be fun for her. If you'd like to add Rhoadie to your family, go ahead and fill out an application and get ready for a lot of fun! Seriously, a lot of fun!Rhoadie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and bloodwork complete. Story
Meet Harvey! Harvey is a sweet 5-month-old Cavalier King Charles with a heart full of love! He’s a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, he’ll be your loyal companion for life. Harvey enjoys the company of people, and respectful dogs,. His playful side shines when he feels comfortable. If you’re looking for an affectionate pup ready to bring joy to your home, Harvey is eager to meet you! Like all puppies, he’ll benefit from gentle structure and positive training to help him settle into his new family and routine. Harvey is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $1200.00. He’s searching for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so he wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or preferably someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy may not be the right choice. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area only. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Harvey the first step is to fill out an application for adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is a volunteer in home foster based rescue, We do not have a physical location. Story
Henry is a sweet 6 month old cavalier puppy looking for an experienced patient family that speaks 'dog'. Henry is a breeder release from a commercial facility. He hasn't had the benefit a dog his age might have who was born in a home. That being said, while he is scared and timid, once he feels safe he will long to bond with a family. He will likely always be timid. He needs family who will help him slowly decompress and adjust in his own time. Henry is a friendly gentle fella who is scared of his own shadow right now, He needs to be bouse trained. He must have s a fenced in yard for his potty place. He doesn't understand leash walking and is far too skittish to try. Cavaliers tend to be Velcro dogs. They want to be close to a human, He wants to be cared for, He needs to relax enough to begin to trust humans without fear, He needs a patient adopter without expectations she will change but will give him the time to allow him to if he chooses, Henry will do best in a home with another respectful and confident dog he can imitate and learn from. Like all dogs, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs, not only to give Henry important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Henry is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption fee is $1200..00. he is on the hunt for his own completely committed family.
