Here is Louie, a 4 lb King Cavalier boy I’m fostering in McHenry IL He is a great boy, who is working on potty training and in normal weather loves going outside. (Not when snow is as tall as him) he listens and comes. Loves playing with my dogs and cats. Louie sleeps all night in his playpen and haven’t had an accident. Charlie is a tiny but mighty 3lbs. of King Charles Cavalier. He is around 10 weeks old and up to date with shots for age. Charlie is working on potty training and staying near aomeone when outside. He loves to snuggle, nap in a humans lap, and sleep next to a warm body at night. He loves to be around people including children, play with toys but doesn't like to be alone. He gets along with other dogs and looks to engage with them, we are unsure of cats as we just haven't had that opportunity. Say hello to Charlie, our tenderhearted 11-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. With his soulful eyes and soft, affectionate nature, Charlie is the kind of dog who instantly captures hearts. He’s gentle, loving, and happiest when he’s curled up beside his favorite person — the perfect quiet companion. Charlie does have luxating patellas (loose kneecaps), a common condition in small breeds, so his adopter will need to keep an eye on his knees as he grows. His previous rescue also suggested an adults-only home, as Charlie can be sensitive to too much noise or fast movement. He thrives in calm, predictable environments where he can settle in and feel secure. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted young spaniel who just wants to be loved and cared for, Charlie may be your perfect match.

About Me: Name: Xander Breed (or best guess): Cavalier Approximate Age: 8 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 14 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Fenced yard is best, patient adopter Why In Rescue: puppy mill survivor Profile:   Xander came from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was no longer going to use him for breeding.  Xander is progressing nicely past his puppy mill days and wants human affection.  He needs a patient adopter who will help him learn more about living life as a loved pet.  He will need work on walking on a leash, so a fenced yard or potty area is best.  He will need help with housetraining as she has never lived in a home although he is working on it in his foster home.  If interested please fill out the adoption application. Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house.  They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are.  They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people.  Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step.  Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty easily.  Others can take a long time to even be comfortable with things like walking through the house and being in the same room as a person.  No matter how far and how fast the breeder dogs progress, they are wonderful dogs and deserve a great home after their life on the puppy farm.  A fence or at least a secure fenced in potty area is highly recommended for the dog's safety, and may be required for some dogs.  Another small dog in the house can also help many former breeders adjust faster to life in a home, and also may be required in some cases.  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation.
