Cooper is a 1 year old Cavalier mix who came to us from our friends at Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, so we don’t know much about his past. What we do know is that he’s a sweet, energetic young dog who is ready to start his next chapter. Cooper loves to play and has a fun, happy personality, but he also enjoys cuddling up after he’s had a chance to burn off some energy. He may do well with another polite dog who can match his playful spirit. As with any new companion, we would recommend a meet-and-greet to ensure a good fit. Since Cooper’s history is unknown, we aren’t sure if he is house trained or how he does with kids or cats. With patience, structure, and positive reinforcement, he has the potential to thrive in a variety of homes. If you’re looking for a young, affectionate pup to grow with your family, Cooper may be the perfect match. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
