Absolutely No Phone Calls -Please fill out an adoption application, send it back to us and we will review and return calls. Go to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save an application. Email it back to larrydonnacarp@aol.com to be approved. No Elderly Owners due to his bite history. He will do best with an owner 50 years old or younger. He is an active dog and would be too much for a senior owner. Absolutely no children or grandkids. Meet JoJo, an active, handsome 7 1/2-year-old black n white Cavalier-Basset mix. He was bought from a breeder. His owner was moving and turned him into a shelter where he was taken in by another rescue. He bit several of their people, and they didn't know how to deal with him, so he came to us. Every day we have worked with him, challenged him and corrected him to behave properly. We have not quit on him just because he needs to learn things. He has been with us for 3 1/2 years and has made tremendous progress. His issues are doable if you listen to our suggestions and what we have learned works for him to be a good dog. He needs a fenced yard and a calm adult only home with a good alpha owner willing to work with him. He is crate trained, somewhat house trained and eats well at mealtimes. If you listen to us on what works best for him, he can be a good boy. A home with few visitors and limited distractions is a must. He can be crated temporarily. No children, no grandchildren and no senior owners due to his past. He can be with other dogs but doesn't do well with big dogs and cannot be in a home with Pitt Bulls. He is most comfortable with Cocker Spaniels and Corgi's, but he is not a dog who likes to play with them. He is very selective with who he likes and will bond well with you once he knows you. He can be a goofy guy, likes to play fetch, is a bit jealous at times and he enjoys mealtimes. A woman groomer is best when he needs a bath and haircut. His adoption fee is $400.

Urgent, NC Local Foster Home Needed. You must live in the Salisbury, Kannapolis, Concord area in order to be available to take him to our vet as needed in Kannapolis. He will do best as an only dog or with one small, dog social pal that is not a dominate dog. Please read bio below. If interested, please send an email message to larrydonnacarp@aol.com to let us know that you can help by fostering until he can be adopted out. Details will be discussed. Meet Brady, a 4 1/2-year-old male Cockalier. He was turned into rescue by a woman who had 8 dogs plus him. She gave him up because he wasn't doing well with this many dogs in a home environment. He also didn't care for her older dogs. We have learned that he is like a Velcro dog to an adult human, so maybe he needs to be your only dog. Or possibly he can be with another dog social small dog who is easy going and not dominate. This boy is timid, overweight at 39 pounds and scared. He is HW negative, and we are updating his vetting needs; his owner sadly neglected his care due to the number of dogs. Hookworms are being treated and other vet needs are being addressed. He will need help with leash training and house training. Teen and older children best, no young kids. A secure fenced yard is a must. His adoption fee is $400.00.

Story
This debonaire and wickedly handsome boy is called Kloki.  He is said to be a Shih Tzu/Long Haired Chihuahua mix and at 4 years and 18  pounds, this boy is ready for a new home where he can King of  his kingdom and can get all the love and affection.  He has had some upheaval in his life recently and his forever first owner is living with people who have other pets which Kloki is not a fan of.  His loving owner cannot live on his own right now so he is sacrificing this loving dog to go to a home where he will be the only pet and the only creature that is the center of the person’s world.  He is housebroken, crate trained and he is not the happiest boy since the move.  He would sit on your lap all day long if you let him.  Are you wanting the love of a really small dog and a promise from you that you will see him through for all the years to come in his life!?  He is sweetly handsome and desperately needing a new place in life.  If you are interested please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Tell us where you live when you write us the email. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 10, 2024, 9:46 pm
