Adult Home Only- No Phone Calls -Please fill out an adoption application, send it back to us and we will review and return calls. Go to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save an application. Email it back to larrydonnacarp@aol.com to be approved. No Elderly Owners due to his past history. He will do best with an owner 50 years old or younger. He is an active dog and would be too much for a senior owner. Absolutely no children or grandkids. Meet JoJo, an active, handsome 8-year-old black n white Cavalier mix. His owner bought him from a breeder. When he decided to move, he turned him into a shelter where he was taken in by a rescue. He bit several of their people, and they didn't know how to deal with him, so he came to us. Every day we have worked with him, challenged him and corrected him to behave properly. We have not quit on him just because he needs to learn things. He has been with us for 4 years and has made tremendous progress. His issues are doable if you listen to our suggestions and what we have learned works for him to be a good dog. He needs a calm adult only home with a good alpha owner willing to work with him. A fenced yard is a must. He is crate trained, mostly house trained and eats well at mealtimes. A home with few visitors and limited distractions is a plus. No children, no grandchildren and no senior owners due to his past. He can be with other dogs but doesn't do well with big dogs and cannot be in a home with Pitt Bulls. He is most comfortable with Cocker Spaniels and Corgi's, but he is not a dog who likes to play with them. He is very selective with who he likes and will bond well with you once he knows you. He can be a goofy guy, likes to play fetch, is a bit jealous at times and he enjoys mealtimes. A woman groomer is best when he needs a bath and haircut. We feel this boy deserves to be loved and find a home where he can be happy. Please give him a chance to find an adult home willing to work with him and not quit on him. Adoption Fee: $400

Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Buddy, a 1 year, 9-month-old, neutered Cocker Spaniel boy. He was turned into a NC shelter with the owners saying he had started nibbling at their feet, and they didn't want their grandchildren to get hurt. They had him in their home for two months after getting him from someone else. This sweet boy comes from an unknown, unstable past. He needs an adult only home with an owner 55 and under, no senior owners. Absolutely no toys, no children or grandkids due to past bite issues which his foster rescue mom will discuss if you are approved to adopt him. He has been in 4 different homes before rescue. He came here with bilateral cherry eyes, HW & fecal status negative. A repair for his cherry eyes was done with a good recovery. He came to us very sad, dirty and needed to be cleaned up. After being groomed he came back withdrawn from too much noise and too many dogs. Best to have a patient groomer and few distractions. A new owner must listen to what we suggest. He needs to learn to trust you for an adoption to go well. He didn't know kindness, love, attention or how to handle noises until we worked with him. He can be in a home with one other Cocker Spaniel who is easy going and would love a pal. He will thrive in a home with stability, kindness and love. Someone who will work with him and not give up on him. His issues will be discussed if approved to meet him. Fenced yard a must. Adoption Fee is $500.

Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Jackson, a healthy, loving 5 1/2-year-old Cocker Spaniel. He was surrendered to a NC Shelter with the owners saying he snapped at their kids when they wouldn't share their food with him. The shelter was overcrowded so he came to rescue. An adult home with no children, some house-training and a fenced yard is best. This very handsome, friendly boy is a BIG boned Cocker Spaniel. He is heartworm negative, neutered, micro-chipped and he had a dental. Due to a somewhat unknown past, absolutely no kids in his new home. He is a happy affectionate guy most of the time, but he does have some issues from being flown to NC as a pup. His lack of social skills is workable if you teach him. He does have anxiety issues when groomed so a patient groomer is best. Also, riding in a vehicle is difficult for him when he hears loud noises. He is not a playful dog, but he would enjoy quality time with you and a Cocker Spaniel companion to hang out with. A calm, stable home with a caring owner who will spend quality time working with him is best. He is a good boy and will become a loving companion once he gets to know you. No apartments. Adoption fee $400
