Meet Jake – A Sweet Little Explorer Learning to Be Brave ❤️ Jake is a two-and-a-half-year-old Miniature Poodle who weighs just 11 pounds. This adorable little guy has a gentle heart, a curious spirit, and a playful personality that’s beginning to shine as he discovers all the wonderful things his new life has to offer. Jake can be a little shy with people at first, but don’t let that fool you into thinking he’s content to sit on the sidelines. When he’s out in the play area, his curiosity takes over! He loves exploring his surroundings, investigating interesting sights and smells, and spending time with his canine friends. And Jake definitely enjoys having dog buddies! He’s an energetic little guy who loves to play, so he would do best in a home with another friendly, social dog who enjoys playtime. Having a canine companion to learn from will help Jake continue becoming more comfortable with people and discovering what it means to be a beloved family dog. Jake is still learning to trust human handling. Being picked up can make him nervous, but once he’s safely in someone’s arms, he settles and does well being held. These are the little things our team continues to work on with him, helping him understand that gentle hands and human affection are nothing to fear. His new family will need patience, understanding, and a willingness to continue the work we’ve started. Jake isn’t quite ready to navigate every new experience without reassurance, and that’s okay. He needs people who will give him time, celebrate his little victories, and allow him to grow at his own pace. Jake is a wonderful little dog with so much sweetness and personality waiting to blossom. He’s already discovering how much fun life can be. He’s still a bit shy when it comes to people, but there’s a happy, curious, energetic boy underneath that hesitation who’s just waiting for the right family to help him blossom. One of Sam’s favorite things is getting outside into the play area. He loves to explore, follow his nose, and see what interesting things he can discover. And when other dogs are around, even better! Sam enjoys their company and has a playful side that makes him a fun little companion. Sam would thrive with another friendly, social dog in his new home, especially one who enjoys running around and playing. A playful canine companion will give him someone to have fun with while also helping him learn the ropes of family life. Sometimes the best teacher for a dog who’s still figuring things out is another dog who already knows how wonderful life can be. Sam is still a little unsure about being picked up. He may get nervous when someone reaches to lift him, but once he’s being held, he does well. He’s learning that human touch can be gentle and safe, and with continued positive experiences, we hope those moments will become easier for him. Sam needs an adopter who understands that bringing home a shy dog means continuing a journey, not expecting an overnight transformation. He’ll need patience, gentle encouragement, and opportunities to build trust through everyday experiences. There may be moments when he needs extra reassurance, but there will also be wonderful little milestones worth celebrating. Sam has all the makings of a wonderful companion. He’s sweet, curious, playful, and already showing us how much he enjoys the good things in life. He doesn’t need someone to rush him into becoming a different dog. Life with Ruby probably won't be boring—and we think that's part of her charm. She's also discovering that slowing down can have its perks. Ruby is learning to appreciate lap time, and those quieter moments of affection are becoming another part of this new life she's beginning to enjoy. Ruby gets along with other dogs just fine, but when it comes to her people, she'd really prefer not to share! It's not that she doesn't like other dogs—she simply wants her very own humans to love, adore, and spoil her without any competition. She's not leash trained yet, so her new family will need to continue teaching her this important skill with patience and positive reinforcement.
