Story
Meet Brownie – A Survivor Ready to Feel Love for the First Time 🤎🐾 Brownie has lived a life no dog should ever have to endure. Returned to the same shelter four separate times, always with many of the same injuries, he’s known more heartbreak and neglect than comfort and care. But thanks to our incredible community, Brownie’s story is finally turning a corner. We took Brownie in to give him the second chance he’s long deserved. After a full check-up, X-rays, and bloodwork, the truth of his past came to light: 💔 A bladder stone causing him daily discomfort 💔 An old pelvic fracture likely from as far back as 2021 💔 Severe dental disease from years of neglect His body tells the story of pain. And his eyes tell the story of a dog who’s still learning what it means to be loved. But here's the beauty of Brownie: he’s still trying. He wants to trust. He wants to believe. And with time, patience, and kindness, he’s starting to open up—one gentle wag, one quiet nuzzle at a time. And the best part? Brownie is an absolute sweetheart. He’s gentle, affectionate, and just wants to feel safe. He gets along well with cats, children, and other dogs, though he may need a little time to warm up to high-energy male dogs. Once he’s comfortable, he enjoys their company too! Brownie is: 🧸 Soft, sensitive, and slowly learning to feel safe 🐾 Great with cats, kids, and most dogs 🩺 Receiving the medical care he’s always needed 💤 Calm, quiet, and a perfect companion for a peaceful home 🏡 Looking for a patient, loving family who will never give up on him Brownie doesn’t need perfection—just someone who sees him, believes in him, and will walk alongside him as he heals, inside and out. Be the chapter in Brownie’s life where everything changes. Apply to adopt today. 🤎

Story
Meet Sprocket, a 4-year-old Poodle mix with a big personality and a heart full of potential. Sprocket has had a rough start and comes with a history of reactivity and biting. He’s a scared dog who needs a firm, experienced owner to help him feel secure and establish boundaries. Sprocket has had training sessions and responds well to clear, consistent leadership. Once he knows you’re in charge, he’s much more relaxed and doesn’t push back. However, he does react to new people and should wear a muzzle during initial introductions for safety. Despite his challenges, Sprocket has no health issues and thrives on affection from his trusted person. He enjoys being cuddled and will show his sweet side once he’s built trust. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a structured, loving environment, Sprocket could be a rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can help him overcome his fears and show him the love and stability he deserves.

Meet Kirk! This 2-year-old Poodle mix weighs just 13 lbs and is a charming and fluffy pup. Kirk is a sweet and gentle little guy who loves affection and being close to his people. He'll never turn down the opportunity to give out kisses and cuddle up. He has a calm, easygoing nature and warms up quickly once he feels comfortable. Kirk enjoys short walks, cozy blankets, and entertaining himself with toys. He's a big fan of fetch but equally loves curling up next to his person to nap. Kirk is potty trained and learning to settle in his crate with the help of his foster. This sweet boy is working on his leash manners and will need adopters who can continue this with him. Story
Moby is adorable, friendly, well behaved, and learns quickly. He is house trained and crate trained, knows “sit”, and takes treats very gently.  He is very food motivated in general. Moby loves people and is bit of a jumper when he is excited, but if you give him a simple “down” or “off”, he listens. The fosters have five other dogs and he knows his place in the pack, so he would do fine as a solo dog or with other pups. He wants love and affection but he has not been allowed on the foster's couch or bed yet as he can get possessive of cushions and bedding. We recommend an adult-only home, or one with older kids/teens. Moby’s fosters currently walk him once a day, as cars and noise are a bit overwhelming for him…he is still building his confidence. He is not a particularly barky dog, but he will alert you to strange noises. Overall, this little guy is pretty low maintenance, and he is definitely ready for his forever home.

Story
Freya is a sweet, cuddly girl with a lot of love to give. She is a loyal Velcro dog and would like nothing more than to hang out with you all day…she would definitely prefer a forever human who works from home or who is retired. Freya can have a little separation anxiety when left alone and will chew up a slipper here n there, so we definitely encourage crate training Freya. Little girl has had a few accidents in the house (peeing) but does the rest of her business outside. However, she can easily be trained because she listens well and is food motivated! Freya gets along with other dogs and would likely be fine with cats as well. She walks nicely on leash, and is a very quiet pup, able to acclimate easily. Freya is very trusting and curious, and when she’s excited, she does a little tippy tappy dance. Are you ready for this snuggly apricot poodle girl to dance into your heart?

Adopting a Cavapoo

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Cavapoo - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

The easiest way to adopt a Cavapoo is through a rescue that specializes in the breed. You can start by doing a breed search on Adopt a Pet. The search will show you all the available Cavapoos in your area.

Adopting a Cavapoo from a rescue costs less than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting a Cavapoo is around $300, which covers the expenses of caring for the dog before adoption. In contrast, buying a purebred Cavapoo puppy from a breeder can be very expensive — thousands of dollars, depending on their lineage, size, and color. The price of an average Cavapoo from a reputable breeder is $2,500 to $5,000. Of course, we’d love for you to go the adoption route. If you are set on a certain breed, please also consider breed-specific rescues.

Cavapoo fun facts

Fun Facts:

Katy Perry had a Cavapoo named Butters.

Their parent, the Cavalier King Charles, was used as a lap-dog to attract fleas away from humans during the Bubonic Plague. Historians believe this might have limited the spread of the disease.
