Story
Meet Brownie – A Survivor Ready to Feel Love for the First Time 🤎🐾 Brownie has lived a life no dog should ever have to endure. Returned to the same shelter four separate times, always with many of the same injuries, he’s known more heartbreak and neglect than comfort and care. But thanks to our incredible community, Brownie’s story is finally turning a corner. We took Brownie in to give him the second chance he’s long deserved. After a full check-up, X-rays, and bloodwork, the truth of his past came to light: 💔 A bladder stone causing him daily discomfort 💔 An old pelvic fracture likely from as far back as 2021 💔 Severe dental disease from years of neglect His body tells the story of pain. And his eyes tell the story of a dog who’s still learning what it means to be loved. But here's the beauty of Brownie: he’s still trying. He wants to trust. He wants to believe. And with time, patience, and kindness, he’s starting to open up—one gentle wag, one quiet nuzzle at a time. And the best part? Brownie is an absolute sweetheart. He’s gentle, affectionate, and just wants to feel safe. He gets along well with cats, children, and other dogs, though he may need a little time to warm up to high-energy male dogs. Once he’s comfortable, he enjoys their company too! Brownie is: 🧸 Soft, sensitive, and slowly learning to feel safe 🐾 Great with cats, kids, and most dogs 🩺 Receiving the medical care he’s always needed 💤 Calm, quiet, and a perfect companion for a peaceful home 🏡 Looking for a patient, loving family who will never give up on him Brownie doesn’t need perfection—just someone who sees him, believes in him, and will walk alongside him as he heals, inside and out. Be the chapter in Brownie’s life where everything changes. Apply to adopt today. 🤎

Story
Meet Grumpy – The Sweetest Boy with a Silly Name! Don’t let the name fool you—Grumpy isn’t actually grumpy at all! He got his name simply because he was one of seven brothers rescued from a backyard breeding situation (yes, the Seven Dwarfs theme stuck!). Grumpy, like his brothers, was saved by Hope for Paws after spending his early life confined in a cage, huddled up just trying to feel safe. Now fully vetted and medically cared for, Grumpy is ready to leave the past behind and start his journey toward a loving forever home. He may be a little shy at first, but once he knows he can trust you, he reveals his sweet, gentle spirit. He’s calm, observant, and quietly affectionate—a loyal companion in the making. Grumpy just needs a patient, loving person to help him feel secure. Once he warms up, he becomes a tenderhearted friend who will stay by your side and soak up all the love you have to give. Breed: Small mix Age: Adult Temperament: Shy at first, sweet, calm, affectionate Good with: Other dogs, cats, quiet homes Special needs: A little time, patience, and lots of love Give Grumpy the happily-ever-after he truly deserves—apply to adopt today! 🐾💛

Story
Meet Sprocket, a 4-year-old Poodle mix with a big personality and a heart full of potential. Sprocket has had a rough start and comes with a history of reactivity and biting. He’s a scared dog who needs a firm, experienced owner to help him feel secure and establish boundaries. Sprocket has had training sessions and responds well to clear, consistent leadership. Once he knows you’re in charge, he’s much more relaxed and doesn’t push back. However, he does react to new people and should wear a muzzle during initial introductions for safety. Despite his challenges, Sprocket has no health issues and thrives on affection from his trusted person. He enjoys being cuddled and will show his sweet side once he’s built trust. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a structured, loving environment, Sprocket could be a rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can help him overcome his fears and show him the love and stability he deserves.

Story
Meet Kirk! This 2-year-old Poodle mix weighs just 13 lbs and is a charming and fluffy pup. Kirk is a sweet and gentle little guy who loves affection and being close to his people. He'll never turn down the opportunity to give out kisses and cuddle up. He has a calm, easygoing nature and warms up quickly once he feels comfortable. Kirk enjoys short walks, cozy blankets, and entertaining himself with toys. He's a big fan of fetch but equally loves curling up next to his person to nap. Kirk is potty trained and learning to settle in his crate with the help of his foster. This sweet boy is working on his leash manners and will need adopters who can continue this with him. We think Kirk would thrive in a variety of homes, especially one that is ready to give him all the love he deserves. If you're looking for a small, loving companion, Kirk might be your perfect match!

Story
2 years Male Altered 25 pounds Curly Up to Date on Shots Penzey's theme song is "If you're happy and you know it…" This is the happiest dog we have ever met. Penzey is always smiling! And he has a lot to smile about. He was rescued from the streets and brought to us by a Good Samaritan. No collar, tag or chip and no response to any postings. So he got a spa treatment and found himself an awesome foster! Now he's got a big sister, is learning the doggy door and is going on walks every day. He's young and goofy and will need an active family. He has lots of energy Penzey is housebroken and sleeps through the night. He loves his food and will eat anything and everything! Penzey's foster says that he's a cuddler and is very self entertaining. If his canine foster sister doesn't want to play, he will get a toy and amuse himself. This guy gets along with all other dogs. https://dawgsquad.org/adoption-application/

Adopting a Cavapoo

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Cavapoo - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

The easiest way to adopt a Cavapoo is through a rescue that specializes in the breed. You can start by doing a breed search on Adopt a Pet. The search will show you all the available Cavapoos in your area.

Adopting a Cavapoo from a rescue costs less than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting a Cavapoo is around $300, which covers the expenses of caring for the dog before adoption. In contrast, buying a purebred Cavapoo puppy from a breeder can be very expensive — thousands of dollars, depending on their lineage, size, and color. The price of an average Cavapoo from a reputable breeder is $2,500 to $5,000. Of course, we’d love for you to go the adoption route. If you are set on a certain breed, please also consider breed-specific rescues.

Cavapoo fun facts

Fun Facts:

Katy Perry had a Cavapoo named Butters.

Their parent, the Cavalier King Charles, was used as a lap-dog to attract fleas away from humans during the Bubonic Plague. Historians believe this might have limited the spread of the disease.
