Story
Asher, our soulful, enigmatic boy is looking to make a deep connection and bond with someone who is ready to get to know him on the deepest level. As a man of mystery... playful at times but sometimes serious too, affectionate on occasion but independent and self-reliant when comfortable...he will be a fine partner and teacher for the dog-experienced person ready to take their education to the next level. The task of peeling back Asher’s many layers to watch him blossom and bond might take a little time but will ultimately be intensely rewarding to the person he’s meant for. Asher is whip-smart, athletic, and quite charming. Once he has opened-up, the fun begins. He loves to work, practicing and learning cues. He loves to patrol, working a perimeter perhaps to keep coyotes away. He loves to rest, enjoying a nice sunbath and watching the birds. But, his favorite thing is to PLAY! This guy will fetch a ball until the sun sets! He has been thriving with his current routine that includes all of the above, but that wasn't always the case. We've worked with him on diminishing resource guarding (food), fear related to people encroaching in his personal space, and miscommunication issues. He has continued to mend and excel in the process and he is now ready to find the person who can provide him with a lifestyle and partnership where he will continue to grow and allow him to be his happiest self. Asher’s perfect home would be with one or two dog-experienced adults who offer a gentle touch, a predictable routine, and respect for his independent nature. He’ll need a home with regular indoor/outdoor access for him to use as he pleases. Don’t be surprised if he spends most of his time outside in his yard. Besides learning, patrolling, sunbathing, and playing, he walks nicely on leash and loves to hike and swim! Our talented training team is on board to help Asher's new partnership with you thrive, providing assistance and guidance on adjusting Asher to his new home and surroundings. All aboard!

Story
Lover of Life and Hogger of Attention – that’s our Finn. Good-natured, social, exuberant, goofy and fun, this boy wants to live it up all the time. He loves being in the world and all the things that go with it. One of his favorite things? Jumping! Parkour, anyone? (sometimes the parkour wall is you, but we are working on that…) Finn looks like a sturdy Labrador Retriever (and acts like a circus performer) but he actually has 17 other breeds in him including Shar Pei (well, only 1%). He is a true mixed breed, which is maybe why he carries so much zest for life, he is representing many tribes! His original owners surrendered him to a shelter in Massachusetts for this very zest for life where he caught the eye of a local trainer who volunteered at the shelter. He alsonoticed his love of toys and high energy and knew just the place to place him! That’s when he came to us. Well, that zest for life is also what is keeping him from a career in disaster search and rescue because he just loves everything and wants to do it all. This good boy is smart, funny and willing, even if he needs some work on his parkouring off the people he loves. He has done wonderfully with other dogs in play group, always seeking connection with all the dogs he meets and tolerant of those who are rude or rowdy. Where do we see this attention-seeking, rowdy clown blossoming? With an active partner who will keep him busy, but also have the patience to help him learn. He is very athletic and could excel in a sport if coached with some patience (see above about parkour and zest for life…) He loves dogs and people, so would enjoy an outgoing social life (although young kids are a probably not, because he expresses his zest for life with jumping and some mouthiness.) Finn has the potential to keep you on your toes as well as in stitches (the laughing kind), not to mention enlarging the capacity of your heart for love with his attention thrown back on you.
