River here! I know the first thing you notice is amazing…smile? Nope its my underbite! If you could win an award for one I imagine I would have a trophy! I’m a friendly guy who loves other dogs and people! I go to daycare and love playing with other pups while I’m there. My foster parents say one of the funniest things I do is toss my toys in the air and I get confused when they don’t land right next to me. I’m kind a a goofy guy. Speaking of playing I also dog fetch and love playing with my dog toys. I’m not just all about romping around though. I’m a great one to cuddle with and really enjoy Netflix nights on the couch I live with a feline friend and we get along great. I have also met children and I was very appropriate and sweet around them. I’m great in my crate and I have house training down! If you are looking for a fun guy who lives to meet new people, I’m your guy!

Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX)

“Dogs are loyal friends." This reminds us of Bandit, who is ready to be your new best friend! He weighs 50 pounds, so Bandit is a great choice if you want to adopt a medium sized companion! His soft and fluffy chocolate colored coat has snow white markings and is perfect for petting, which he greatly enjoys. Bandit is so sweet and good natured and one of our favorite cuddle buddies. His warm brown eyes are so soulful. Bandit enjoys outings in the fenced yard, and especially loves to hang out with you to enjoy the day together. He is a congenial walking companion who adores being close by your side. Bandit is a bright dog who wants to please and should master any commands you want to teach him. Lucky Bandit had a great field trip with one of our dedicated volunteers who reports: "He is very sweet and gentle. Bandit liked PetSmart and enjoyed mostly doing laps around the store. He was very aware of other dogs and wanted to stay away from them. He didn’t pay any attention to the cats in the windows but one of them definitely noticed him. After PetSmart, we walked down the sidewalk. Bandit would have preferred to go in every door and do some fall shopping. A quick trip to SE Daugherty and Sons put him in the mood for cooler weather for sure. Last stop was at the taco truck at Eddie’s where he got to meet some of Pegram’s firefighters. Bandit is so sweet and really seems to need gentle people with a place for him to exercise and feel safe." Bandit has so much love to give and will be such a loyal and devoted family dog!
