Meet Marla, a one and a half year old Lab/Husky mix weighing 61 pounds.Marla is a friendly, happy, and silly young pup who came to the shelter with her sister, Abigail. The girls were unfortunately dumped as puppies and didn’t receive much early guidance, so Marla is looking for a patient adopter who’s excited to help her learn good manners and build confidence.Marla is full of enthusiastic puppy energy and is currently working on the command “off”—she’s just so excited to be around people! Because she’s still learning her manners, we don’t think Marla would be the best fit for a home with young children at this time. With consistency and positive training, she has all the potential to thrive.When she’s unsure, Marla looks to her people for guidance and support, and her eager, people-focused nature should make her a joy to train. Sweet, playful, and always ready to be silly, Marla will do best in a home willing to invest time, patience, and love as she continues to grow into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be.This pet is available for adoption on 12/4/2025 4:01 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Meet Rocky, a seven year old Lab/American Bulldog mix weighing 70 pounds.Rocky’s world was turned upside down when his owner was arrested and his family could no longer care for him. Through no fault of his own, this well-mannered senior boy found himself surrendered to Animal Control — confused, heartbroken, and unsure of what was happening.But even with all these sudden changes, Rocky remains incredibly loving and friendly. He greets new people with a calm curiosity and a gentle heart. There’s a quiet strength about him — a dignity that shines through in the way he carries himself.Rocky is a mature, respectful companion who enjoys his walks and strolls beautifully on a leash. He knows the command “sit” and clearly had a solid foundation in his previous home. He would thrive in a calm, compassionate environment where he can feel safe and loved again. He has met other dogs while with us and has done extremely well, he was easy going and just happy to be out and about with them.
