UPDATE!! This sweet girl is Dede! Sadly, she was abandoned at a local overcrowded shelter. Thankfully, we secured a foster and were able to pull into a foster home. Dede is a sweet girl but timid at first. She opens up quickly. She is great with other dogs. She does wonderful indoors and the foster said just a just a little doll. She’s the perfect and calm lap girl. She would do best in a home without small kids. Dede is 3-5 years old and 10 lbs. She fully vetted, altered and spayed. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact Parkway Animal Hospital as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. UPDATE!! Precious Marilyn has recovered remarkably from her extensive hernia repair and tumor removal a month ago.  This precious girl  has settled in her fosters home well. She is still very shy and a little timid but a total lovebug. She’s great in the house. She loves snuggling under the covers and being close to her person. She would be best in a home that understands it might take her some time to warm up but we promise she is worth the wait and is the best little companion. She can not jump on the couch or bed, but she lets you know she needs to be put up wherever you are. She’s great with other animals. This sweet girl just wants a lap to call her own for the new year. Our miracle girl, Marilyn, is a chi mix who is 6-8 years old and 8 lbs. She fully vetted, altered and ready for a home to call her own.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! UPDATE!!&#226&#156&#168 This little cutie is Champ. He’s was pulled from a local overcrowded shelter. Champ is a sweet but timid boy. He will need patience while he settles in. Champ adores women and settles in with them quickly. He is extremely weary of men and would do best in a woman only household or with a very understanding male that will give this guy the time he needs to overcome his past and trust men.m. He is a terrier mix that’s 1-2 years old and 10-15 lbs. He has done great with the female dogs in his foster home but is an alpha to males. He does well in the house and wants nothing more than a lap to call his own. He would do better in an older calmer household with a lady that has a lap to call his own. He is the best little guy to his foster mom and would make a wonderful companion to a woman out there. He is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels and neutered.  FOSTER NEEDED ASAP- Chance is in a home with men and other male dogs and it’s a very busy environment. He adores his foster mom but she feels he would do much better in a less chaotic foster home. This is Silas he is a 9 pound chi mix. He was part of a hoarding case so he is very shy with humans. He loves all dogs and would love to have another dog to play with.
