If we do not receive a timely response we simply move on to another applicant. And please wait for our response as we schedule appointments to meet our pets. Below is info about our pet & adoption cost/detail information below that – please read all.  PET DESCRIPTION:  Axel is almost four-years-old, 18 lbs, male, Chihuahua/Dachshund mix.  Surrendered to us when his owner moved and they did not take him.  He is very shy at first but once comfortable very loving but best in adult only home so no children please. He may like women better than men and quickly gets possessive of his owner so not one for a too busy household with lots of people coming and going. We were told he is house-trained & crate-trained.  DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter). FOSTER NEEDED! Momma needs your help! This precious little senior Chihuahua is 9 years old; and she has tested heart worm positive. Momma needs a foster while she is undergoing heart worm treatment. We will need a foster for her for 3-6 months. This little sweetheart is well behaved, gentle, and is a cuddly little girl. She weighs 13 pounds so she is a small girl. We will provide everything you need--food, bedding, crate, and we will pay for the heart worm treatments. She would be fine with children. Momma is good with most dogs but if you have another dog, we would require you to bring your dog in for a meet & greet with Momma. If you think you can help Momma out, please call us between 11-4 at 334-358-2882. We really need a foster for Momma as soon as possible. Even if you can't foster--please share to help us find the perfect foster home for Momma.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  March 7, 2026, 4:12 pm
